When I rode the NJIT-ConRail and Amtrak trains in/out of Penn Station, heavy snows often shorted-out the tracks, causing minor hi-voltage fire on the overhead lines or 3rd rail.
Trains stopped, we disembarked and took land shuttles to local hotels/motels, or got to commuter pkg lots, and carpooled to our other isolated cars. That was back in late-70s/early-80s, but they must have improved power plants since then. Hopefully.

Was not able to sleep too well the night before, so I crashed early. Missed the Ray Charles “America The Beautiful” song. But my body needed to rest. Rest well beloved animals and friends. :)=^..^=
