WMAL literally just said trains are still leaving Union Station for NYC but Mrs S looked on Amtrak and it says they are cancelled. The snow isn’t that high yet is it?
It’s the media, MAG... they’ve got people so panicked over this storm. There are lines at the gas stations, supermarkets and home supply stores. Ay-yi-yi, as you say, it’s WINTER, dam it.

When I rode the NJIT-ConRail and Amtrak trains in/out of Penn Station, heavy snows often shorted-out the tracks, causing minor hi-voltage fire on the overhead lines or 3rd rail.
Trains stopped, we disembarked and took land shuttles to local hotels/motels, or got to commuter pkg lots, and carpooled to our other isolated cars. That was back in late-70s/early-80s, but they must have improved power plants since then. Hopefully.
