Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) says Karl Rove and American Crossroads are out to get him and his supporters should pony up to stop them.
Keying off a quote from Crossroads President Steven Law in Sundays New York Times, the likely Iowa Senate candidate sent an email to supporters Thursday seeking cash for a potential campaign.
I have not made a decision on this matter, but already Karl Rove and his army have launched a crusade against me, King writes.
Polls show that King would enter the race as the clear frontrunner in the GOP primary, but that he would trail in a general election matchup.
They said I couldnt win in 2012 the entire political machine was against me but I soundly defeated my opponent by 8 percentage points, he writes. So let me be clear. Nobody can bully me out of running for the U.S. Senate, not even Karl Rove and his hefty war chest. King concludes by asking for a donation of $25, $50, $100 or more to help me ward off Karl Roves baseless attacks.
The Times reported Sunday that King could be one of the earliest targets of a Conservative Victory Project aimed at preventing unelectable candidates from winning Senate nominations.

"Victory over Conservatives Project"
or at least that is what real Conservatives should call it.
Other than FreeRepublic THIS would be a DAMN GOOD use for you money. Steve King is the REAL DEAL! It would be nice if we conservatives could MONEY BOMB him every 6 months or so. Iowas Freeps working for Steve would be a GREAT use of time.
Stop donating to any and all parties. I did years ago. Do not attend fundraisers or plate dinners.
Rove, et al (translated: Grover Norquist) are out to get King because he’s the only one left who will tell the truth about illegal immigration.
Dennis Michael Lynch, who is a film producer and has made movies about the danger of the border crossers interviewed King yesterday.
They Come to America
Today, I interviewed Congressman Peter King. He is Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security. I shocked him; he shocked me. The interview is frightening on so many levels.
[snip] DML: How would you describe Obama’s behavior concerning National Security?
King: He’s schizophrenic
Dennis Michael Lynch: Filmmaker. Entrepreneur. Patriot. http://theycometoamerica.com/
I agree with you 100%! Here and Steve King. If you’re gonna donate, tis the place to do it.
Not a lot out there to stop Rove, but what there is, is, and can be, formidable.
Steve King and his POSSIBLE US Senate run is the ONLY thing keeping me registered as a Iowa “Republican”. Iowa has NO “Open Primaries”.
In 2014, we will make political contributions only to those candidates who are opposed by Rove and the eGOP. If conservatives do that, instead of just griping to their computer friends, they could have an effect in the primaries.
King is a great conservative. I hope he runs.
Amen! Rep. King is in the crosshairs of these "propagandists".
is Steve still pushing windmills?
“In 2014, we will make political contributions only to those candidates who are opposed by Rove and the eGOP. If conservatives do that, instead of just griping to their computer friends, they could have an effect in the primaries.”
I didn’t leave the republican party, they left me, so I only give to individual candidates now.
Jim DeMint and Sarah Palin speaking for someone would cause me to take a look at candidates.
Now Rove’s opposition to someone is an anti-endorsement that will be an important factor from now on.
