Go ahead and run more McCains and Romneys and you will keep getting the same result. The GOP should stop being surprised when they lose conservative voters for going left.

The Republicans need some people with balls that will stand up to Reid, Pelosi and Obama. “Prudence”? How about screaming that Obama is a pos lying idiot?

Pubbies fight with a wet noodle and the dems use an AK-47.

Reminiscent of political candidates who ‘reintroduced’ and ‘remade’ themselves — and still lost.

It isn't the brand that is the problem. It is the direction the GOP keeps pushing toward -- and that direction is leftward.

They keep trying to be more Dem-like by becoming Dem-lite. Why should voters go for Dem-lite, when they can go for the real Dem.

That is where the GOP loses. Instead of being a true 'alternate' or 'opposition' party, they try to be more like the other guys.

Just a slight disagreement. The GOP can be the party with more of a bleeding heart, if they truly cared that democrats are talking of killing the elderly with death panels.

But republicans are fools.

Liberals have demonstrated that candidates for the Presidency need not be experienced, credible or educated. Candidates need not be either personally or professionally irreproachable and if the nominee is not incorruptible...oh well... what do you want...character or something old fashioned like that?

Why do Conservatives insist on fielding ‘Ozzie and Harriet’ candidates with NO relevance to the current American lifestyle or the mind-set of the Conservative base.

Conservatism (especially within the Tea Party-it’s MOST definitive expression) is more coherent, articulate and consistent than the GOP has been for a long time. Meanwhile, the GOP has its heels dug in on issues the true Conservatives have long since clarified for the record!

True Conservatives regard the GOP as a moribund relic and it's disconnect is more apparent all the time.

(Article) All that said, I think the push to rebrand the GOP has its own pitfalls.

Yeah, dumping any semblance of commitment to constitutional government to chase a 51% corrupted and lobotomized electorate sounds like smart strategy to me.

[Goldberg] If you can't get the swing voters to vote for the existing level of conservatism the GOP is offering, it seems odd to argue that the GOP needs to peddle an even more strident form of conservatism .....

That's pure RiNO-Romneyism. Jonah, are your hemorrhoids tickling you, or is that Karl Rove's arm up your @ss?

Exactly. Placing a ‘New and Improved’ sticker on a white dog turd doesn’t change what it is, no matter if it has an (R) after it’s name or not!

Attn GOP: Those are called PRINCIPLES. Learn ‘em, live ‘em, follow ‘em, vote ‘em and I just might vote for YOU.
