America Gives Up
The American Thinker ^ | Feb 8, 2013 | Stella Paul

The other day, I learned that President Obama has canceled our Mars Rover explorations, along with all other planetary missions. NASA's science mission chief just quit in disgust, and who can blame him? Apparently, even robots' lives are too precious for us to risk these days, so America is giving up the thrill of discovering space.

While I was stewing over the news that the Russians will now take over our Mars missions (the Red Planet is turning that kind of Red), I decided to relax by watching the Super Bowl -- just in time to see the lights blow out.

It's getting humiliating to be American; don't you think? The only thing we're Number One at anymore is embarrassing ourselves in front of the world. Once upon a time, we were admired as Can-Do America; now we can't even manage to keep on the lights.

Here's a quick list of some things we're giving up these days, with little more than a shrug: Making babies (lowest birth rate since 1920). The Constitution. Hostess Twinkies (though there's a ray of hope for them). And the natural order of the sexes.

That last remark could refer to a thousand things, but I'm specifically thinking of the madcap decision to send women into combat. Who's going to fight to the death to protect the home front when the hottest girls are in the next bunk?

it only makes sense to send co-eds to fight if you've already given up on the concept of victory, which, in case you haven't noticed, we most definitely have.

Remember when Obama said on TV, chuckling in an ironic-David-Letterman-kind-of-way, that he was "always worried about using the word 'victory,' because, you know, it invokes this notion of Emperor Hirohito coming down and signing a surrender to MacArthur"?

We can't even control our borders or defend our embassies. America not the country of Reagan anymore... the lights on the "city on a hill" have gone out. But remember... elections have consequences. By reelecting Obama, the voters chose and embraced a weak America... and they got it.

Do you want to predict where America is headed?

Study Argentina and Bolivia - their politics, their economics and their society. Socialist fantasies will destroy us exactly as it did them.

More money for SSI disability and other transfer payments.

The robots can always find work as killer drones here in America.

America NEEDS to bring back manufacturing.

We (that includes Republicans) have bought into the myth that trade does not matter.

China is replacing us internationally.

China has closed trade for all intents, No immigration. Everything we should oppose - yet we grow and grow China.

Wake up people.

Now.

Concur. This is what American voted for. The women in this country want the government as their provider husband.

Americans have quit and now just want the government to make decisions for them and order their lives. Their too lazy to make their own decisions to travel their own rocky path. They want the nanny state to keep smoothing the path before them. They WANT unemployment. They WANT disability payments. They WANT Food Stamps. They WANT Medicaid.

In summary, they want Obama to be their father, just as Chris Rock suggested the other day. Most regrettably we have transformed from a spirited people to a nation of fat, lazy oafs who want someone else (nanny state) to do the task of running our lives by making decisions for us and ordering our lives.

How utterly sad.

When trying to understand what Obama does, the first consideration must always be “The Democrat Party is a Criminal Enterprise”

All decisions and actions spring from that concept.

The money pipeline for the mars program is well defined and unchangeable.

There must be new directions and faux money channels established to funnel money directly to those helpful in the reelection.

Wistful remembrance of the last great President this country ever had. I feel blessed to have been in the prime of my life during his era. Seems like eons ago...

Look no further than the color of the skin of the people who work at NASA.

That's all you need to know to understand any Ubama policy.

Yep, back when we had an American in the White House.

See what happens when a presidential candidate is not vetted?

Yep... and what PISSES me off more than anything is Americans can not seem to bring themselves to assign fault on any issue to Obama.

Totally fitting that Obama would put and end to both Spirit and Opportunity. [the names of the rovers]

Most of that is the media.
A lot of it is that the black community would raise hell if the FBP was implied to be a failure.

I heard he was going to commission two new Mars probes called Dependency and Couch Potato. The missions are a 100% sure to succeed. The plan is to drop the probes on the surface of Mars in a giant La-Z-Boy recliner where the two probes will just lie there and do nothing.

And we are learning nothing from this. Another Freeper post shows we would elect Hilary Clinton over any Republican for president right now. This is the leadership we got and America still wants more of it. This is not good.

That’s exactly why 0 canceled the space program and is destroying our nuclear capabilities. Because he HATES the country and wants to destroy it.

America hasn’t given up. The president elected by millions with their head up their a$$ gave up.
