A rookie probationary officer should know he is asking for trouble if he squeals on a senior officer. He reported the female training officer for roughing up a handcuffed suspect. He lost the trust of almost every officer in that department when he did that.

I see your point. How can a n00bie jackboot gunthug be considered trustworthy if he gets squeamish about beating up an arrested, restrained & defenseless peasant?

I’m talking about the consequences of his actions, not whether they were right or wrong. A probationary officer can keep his head down until he is off probation or he can risk his career fighting the system. He should have known what he was getting in to. A probationary officer can be fired for almost any reason.
