Washington, DC Thursday, February 7, 2013

The President's choice to be the new CIA Director, John Brennan, goes before the Senate Intelligence Committee Thursday for his confirmation hearing. If approved, Brennan will replace Acting Director Michael Morell.

Several Committee members are vowing to ask Brennan “tough questions,” including questions on the use of American drones overseas and the Obama administration’s drone strike program. He is also expected to field inquiries about the agency's budget.

Brennan, currently Obama’s counterterrorism adviser, is a 25-year veteran of the CIA and served both at the agency's headquarters and overseas, including a tour as station chief in Saudi Arabia. Pres. Obama nominated Brennan as the next CIA director on January 7, 2013.

I didn’t realize Brennan had advised George Tenet back in 98(?) against taking out osams bin laden. This guy’s fingerprints are everywhere.

MOre on John Brennan, Brennan’s Evasions

What I took from the article was that Brennan lied, or didn't tell the whole truth, during the hearing last Friday. One of the subjects had to do with why a Tunisian suspect, al Harzi, in the Benghazi attack was not detained in Turkey. Brennan said the US didn't have anything on him. Not true. According to reports, there was "intelligence that included real-time social media updates from Benghazi about the unfolding attack". Lindsey Graham worked to get the FBI access to interview him in TUnisia. For some reason he was released from Tunisian custody, but is allegedly being monitored.

Brennan's testimony downplayed any importance this guy had as far as information on what happened, or his involvement. lol (kindof), makes me wonder if Brennan will have him at the top of his next "kill list". Dead men tell no tales.
