Panetta: Obama Absent Night of Benghazi Daniel Halper February 7, 2013 12:05 PM
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta testified this morning on Capitol Hill that President Barack Obama was absent the night four Americans were murdered in Benghazi on September 11, 2012:
Panetta said that Obama left operational details, including knowledge of what resources were available to help the Americans under siege, "up to us."
In fact, Panetta says that the night of 9/11, he did not communicate with a single person at the White House. The attack resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.
Panetta said that, save their 5 o'clock prescheduled meeting with the president the day of September 11, Obama did not call or communicate in anyway with the defense secretary that day. There were no calls about what was going on in Benghazi. He never called to check-in.
Okay, my thought was HOLY COW, but WTF is more appropriate.
Where was the President but more importantly, why wasn’t he available?
So this time, the Liar-in-Chief didn’t even vote ‘present’. He should be removed from office ... dereliction of duties at a minimum.
He's the lightning rod.
His golden parachute must be blindingly bright.
This better be satire, Jesus Christ Almighty!!!!! WTF!!! IMPEACH 0BAMA. He should be available 24/7. I’ll bet Valerie Jarrett shielded him from the incident, trying to protect his re-election.. IMPEACH HER TOO!!! FOUR AMERICANS DIED, DAMN IT!!!
Did that moron Panetta even ATTEMPT to notify his Commander-in-Chief of events in Libya?
And, the lying continues....oh, what a web we weave...even the LOW info voters know the Pres is available 24/7....
IF this is true it’s beyond the pale.
Of all the days for POTUS to be absent,,on 09/11 no less. Unfreaking-believable!
Watch that statement from Panetta morph as outrage about it builds up. The weekend news shows will spend mucho time covering Dear Leader’s butt on this one.
Did we have a VP? If the POTUS and VP are not available, how about the SOS. If that fails, was the third in line the Speaker of the House contacted?
He was probably in the ‘election fraud control center’ underground below the White House, getting his groove on.
Axelrod on Why Obama Campaigned Hours After Benghazi: Everything Was Put in Motion That He Could Put in Motion
November 5, 2012
President Obama returned to the campaign trail hours after terrorists attacked the U.S. consulate and a safe house in Benghazi, killing four Americans, because everything was put in motion that he could put in motion, Obama campaign senior adviser David Axelrod said Sunday.
Axelrod was asked by Fox News Sunday host Chris Wallace about the presidents decision to fly to Nevada for a campaign event within hours of the Sept. 11 attack compared to the decision late last month to suspend campaigning for three days to deal with superstorm Sandy.
Chris, as I said, immediately when word of the attack came, the president was meeting with his top national security folks. He was talking to them well into the night. He was in touch with them during the day, as during the next day as well. So, there is no question about the fact that he was focused on this.
But, why did he feel he could campaign within hours after a terror attack? Wallace asked.
Well, everything everything was put in motion that he could put in motion, Axelrod replied. Everything every conversation that needed to be had was being had between him and his top national security officials.
According to the official White House schedule for Wednesday, September 12, Obama left the White House for Andrews Air Force Base and the flight to Las Vegas at 2:05 pm. That was less than 24 hours after the drawn-out attack in Benghazi began; less than 16 hours after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Twitter first reported that an unnamed State Department officer had been killed in Benghazi; and about six hours after Clinton tweeted confirmation that four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, were dead.
Reports were of Obama going to bed because he had a hot date with Las Vegas the next day. You know. Campaignin’.
..leading from behind, don't want no responsibility, utuh, not me, don't know nuttin, don't wanna know nuttin, can't blame meeeeee, da buck stops over der"

“Where’s the president? Where’s the leadership?” Boehner said before answering his own question. “Absent without leave.”

When the phone rings at 3AM in the WH who do you want to answer it ... remember that in the run up to the ‘Rat National Convention in Denver?
Obama cites Benghazi phone call with national security team but no meeting
On Tuesday night, President Barack Obama said he called up his National Security team by phone while the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi was being attacked, but did not say that he held a meeting before he flew to a fundraiser in Las Vegas.
As soon as we found out that the Benghazi consulate was being overrun, I was on the phone with my national security team and I gave them three instructions, Obama told a questioner during the town hall debate in Hofstra University.
The presidents mention of a phone call not a formal meeting in the White House with his national security team may fuel Republican accusations that the president is more focused on his re-election campaign than national security.
Prior to the Sept. 11 jihadi attack on the Benghazi facility that killed four Americans, including the U.S. ambassador to Libya, Obama had scaled back his meetings with intelligence officials.
On Sept. 10, 2012, Marc Thiessen, a Washington Post columnist and a Republican, cited a report by the Government Accountability Institute to bolster his argument that national security has not necessarily been the personal priority the president makes it out to be.
During his first 1,225 days in office, Obama attended his PDB just 536 times or 43.8 percent of the time. During 2011 and the first half of 2012, his attendance became even less frequent falling to just over 38 percent, Thiessen wrote.
Who gave the order to stand down?? Panetta?? He doesn't have that authority. He's in a non-military capacity.
It had to be Obama.

Panetta: Obama Absent Night of Benghazi
Ping. TM, too.

Insanity, incompetence, or worse—indifference. Where are the adults?
Hillary’s ‘08 campaign ad “it’s 3 am and the White House phone is ringing” comes true. President AWOL
Out “CHOOMIN” with the boys again?
You silly people. You seem to expect something different? We’ve seen this for four years. And the Obama media will cover this faster than a cat covers a turd.
Now lets get back to what’s important. Let’s form a 3rd party that way we can be sure that we’ll get more of this! (Thank goodness Romney didn’t get in, he’d be just as bad, right?)
More likely drunk but you're on the right track.
Whiskey Tango Foxtrot????????\\
My thought to, however, seems I remembe reports of Obama beein present and watching the live stream video from Bengazi on 911, anybody knows better? the secdef has told a few whoppers before so I don’t think another one bother him, he lied for Clinton and he lies for Obama and he probably can’t tell the differance anyway, after all he is a lawyer
Why so confused, America? That’s how it done in Chicago!
If the boss isn’t told about it or never hears of it, there is no culpability or accountability.
“Under the bus for thee but not for me!”
My precise question.
So, when did he find out about Benghazi and why has it taken this long for anyone to say BO wasn't there?
Only the President has the authority to authorize the crossing of International borders with a military force. But by being “absent” He did not have to give the order or not give the order. A seemingly perfect crime if this was a setup.
Proof of premeditated murder if proven.
A president cannot be “absent”. His location is known 24/7. In case of a real absence, a Vice President would be called. But if he gave the order that he was unavailable, then he could be called absent, and his decision was made NOT to give the order.
No two ways about it, Obama is legaly quite present in the decision to allow the embassy to burn. In the least felonious malfeasance, in the greatest, Treason in High Office.
“He is taking nicorette to he’p stop his legal smoking habit, and he is using heroin to he’p stop his coke addiction.
He was somewhere between “puff the magic dragon” and the “yellow submarine”. “
LOL!
Then who gave the order to stand down???
Does Panettta have that authority?
Like Pontius Pilate he washed his hands and walked aay.
What a great leader we have in the White House.
The only man who could order us to cross the border and he walked out and left it to his subordinates.
Obama delegated it to some staffer. Panetta and Dempsey said that they had no further personal contact with Obama and none with Hillary. Everything appeared to be handled by staffers in the WH, NSC, and DOD.
Nowhere does it say he wasn’t available. It simply says he wasn’t involved in the details. I’m sure they knew where he was. This is Panata covering for him.
AND WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?
Man, I’ll be Clinton wishes he’d have thought of that. “Mr. President, did you have sexual relations with Monica Lewinksy?”
“A miliion sperm are dead and we need to find out how that happened. So, WTF difference does it make?”
Must have had a Politburo meeting.
You don't think he's doing all this on his own, do you?
People don’t change. Obama never showed up for votes when he was a state senator. He was the most absent senator in the US senate. The man is lazy.
Ted Nugent.
If this is true, I think it might finally take away the Teflon. I don’t see how he can get out of this one, particularly since everybody else bent over backwards to say how “involved” he was. The only thing they sort of said was that he went to bed (after the first attack was over, supposedly) and left early the next morning for Vegas.
But if he wasn’t even there and nobody knew where or how to reach him, and he didn’t even call in, I think it’s going to be very hard for even the most devoted fans to defend him.
That said, is this true? I didn’t see any comments about this among the posts on the live thread on the hearings.
(My theory has always been that he went to bed early, even before the first attack, and left strict orders not to be disturbed...and they were afraid to wake him.)
Clint Eastwood was dead-on with that “empty chair”...
No one there...
It’s kind of hard to reconcile what Axelrod said with what Panetta said. No?
And evil, very,very evil.
>>> Obama cites Benghazi phone call with national security team but no meeting
That was what I remembered.
He knew a situation developing in Benghazi, left someone(s) else in charge, continued Las Vegas fundrasing as scheduled, then as events got out of hand, sent Rice and his lapdogs to spread smear about a youtube video.
And all this time, none of those left in charge ever thought of keeping Obama up-to-the-minute informed. ???!!!!???!!
Why do I get the feeling that Panetta will be walking this back some time soon?
