House Majority Leader Eric Cantor attempted to project a softer Republican tone on immigration during a speech at the American Enterprise Institute on Tuesday, but indicated there is a ways to go until Republicans and Democrats agree on an overhaul of the nation's immigration laws.

Cantor, the second-ranking House Republican, endorsed a path to citizenship for DREAMers, the undocumented young people brought to the United States as children.

Eric Cantor reveals that he has no interest in the future of this country and is ready and willing to harm us. Already previously, he has made comments that have raised red flags.

"A good place to start is with the kids," Cantor said. "One of the great founding principles of our country was that children would not be punished for the mistakes of their parents. It is time to provide an opportunity for legal residence and citizenship for those who were brought to this country as children and who know no other home."

And what does Cantor propose we do with their parents who made the mistake of entering this country illegally, committed ID theft, worked illegally, etc. And exactly how old is a "child" who qualifies for legal status and then citizenship? And what kind of message does this send to intending illegal aliens wishing to bring their children with them?

He also voiced support for a guest-worker program

We have 23 million Americans looking for fulltime employment, many of them with college degrees. We already have close to 2 million temporary workers in this country thru existing guest worker programs.

"Each year our colleges and universities graduate approximately 40,000 foreign nationals with Masters and PhD degrees, many of whom are then forced to leave the country because there are not enough visa slots in our immigration system to permit them to stay," he said. "So rather than being able to invent things here in America, grow businesses or start one of their own, they do all of these things somewhere else."

Most of these students are already staying here. Are these 40,000 supposed to be in addition to the 1.2 million LEGAL IMMIGRANTS we bring in annually? Why can't our educational system produce the STEM workers we need? Why do we have over 900,000 foreign students attending our universities, which receive federal and state resources to operate. This is all about cheap labor.

First we are told that we need immigrants to do the jobs Americans WON'T DO. Now we are told that we need immigrants to do jobs Americans CAN'T DO. This is all being pushed by the Chamber of Commerce.

The question is if Rubio wins the GOP nomination will folks on FR throw their values out the window to “win” the election as was the case when Dubya, McCain and Romney ran?

Sometimes I think government is so big and so powerful that only a collapse will provide the chance to restore our Republic.

I do not know of a country that, after going down the road of Socialism, has "legislated" itself back to limited government?

Our Founders clearly predicted that men of ill would dominate our government and over time destroy our Liberties.

Some unforeseen "reset" event will be needed.

Only about 1/3 of the ‘legal’ green card Mexicans want to be US citizens.

Personally all these Pols need to be dismissed as soon as possible before they f&^k up something else.

Yes; the path is back to the place they came from, and then get in line.....that is the ONLY reasonable way to deal with Law-Breakers.

ANY other Amnesty is merely ignoring Law-Breaking, and effectively REWARDING them for it.

God, help us.....

As someone who has actually issued a visa, most of these illegal aliens couldn’t qualify for a tourist visa let alone an immigrant visa. And they know it.

Wow, RINO disease appears to metastasize rapidly once in gains a foothold. Cantor appears to be terminal at this stage.

Then reduce exposure with term limits. I've heard all the lame-ass arguments, but nothing else is going to work. One term in the House, one in the Senate, and one as President. Cut K Street's balls off; once and for all.

Never happen, of course.

an overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws.
_________________________________________

The US immigration laws dont need “an overhaul”

They just need to be enforced...

and this is not about immigration...

there are no immigrants involved in this treason...

its about giving AMNESTY to 30 MILLION illegal aliens ...

rewarding them for their criminal behavior at the expense of the people who are waiting in line and doing everything thing the right way...

So true!I despise the spineless cowards of the GOP who have contempt for the conservative values that we hold dear! We cannot give up, but it is disheartening to see them in lockstep with the Democrats.

Here comes amnesty! But we can't have a CONSERVATIVE third party, oh no. The Democrats might win if we do that. Well guess what?

GOP, it was nice to know you! Well, not really. Kiss off, you traitors...I am done.

I agree with you. I don’t even consider them RINOS anymore because that infers that they don’t hold the real Republican views. Unfortunately, they obviously do. “Reach across the aisle, make deals, cave, give up your trump cards, etc” I think WE are the ones that are or were RINOS.

We have been under the delusion that the Republicans held our own constitutional and conservative views. Fortunately, Carl Rove has set us straight.

They have made a HUGE mistake if they think they will can enough illegal alien’s votes to cover the lost libertarian and Tea Party votes.
