As much electrical power as the new stuff draws, the battery won't last long with the alternator out or a broken belt going to it, especially if using headlights.
The little red warning light doesn't always warn you to boot, hate the little red warning lights, like gauges.

There’s gauges. Its a 2000 Ford Explorer, rides nice and I like it a lot even though it is a gas guzzler.
(Rides real quiet right now) LOL!

That's a new truck compared to what I drive, LOL.
Only had the starter go out on the old 1998 Dodge Ram, desperately looking for wood to knock on now.
