What is the discharge to his right from the barrel? Are they porting shotguns now to reduce recoil?

I learned to shoot shotguns as a very young boy, hunting quail and dove with my father. We learned instinctive hunting. It always looks strange to me for people to look down the barrel of the gun as if aiming a rifle. I get just as good of results "snap shooting" and find the other approach odd.

Some shotguns are ported to reduce recoil. However, I’m wondering whether this might be a blank, due to the lack of muzzle rise and “smoke” evident. Personally, I would not trust Barry with a shotgun and live ammunition for obvious safety concerns; his Secret Service bodyguards.

The only thing I can think of it porting, but I don’t think you can do that on shotguns.

It’s presumably ported. I’ve seen them before. It serves to reduce recoil, but only slightly.

His aim for skeet is far too low.

What exactly is the “smoke” coming out of the top of the barrel? It’s too far back to be of consequence for stopping barrel jump.

That was going to be my second question. I think they don't want people Photoshopping this because it already has been Photoshopped. I also agree with you on the butt against his shoulder. That isn't the way someone who "shoots all the time" would hold that shotgun. IMHO.

Here you go. This appears to be the type of gun he is using (Browning 425). Look at the end of the barrel, see all the holes. Those are vents to allow some gas to escape to reduce recoil.

My guess is there is a BFA (blank firing adapter) in the end of the barrel and he is shooting a blank. Which explains the smoke.
