While I'm certainly pleased to hear that New York City has become so crime-free that the police have time and attention to devote to childish squabbled, I really think this is excessive.

As if cuffing the kid wasn't enough, here's the defense offered by the police spokesperson, Kim Royster:

The attorney is fabricating the amount of time the child was in custody." She insists Wilson was only held for four hours and 40 minutes.?!?!?!?

The police are just doing their job creating the mentally disturbed mass shooters of the future.

“Hands in the air citizen, I’m helping you!”

But the badguy is getting away!

“Well have to ask you about that and how you helped him escape us!”

I’m the one who called you morons! Instead of yelling at me and cuffing me, how about chasing him?!

“But then you’d get away!”

Should be relieved the police didn’t charge this 5 yo for pointing his finger at the police, and then have the additional weapons charge, no license to carry, etc.

My teacher used to make everyone in the class close their eyes and put their face down on their desk. Then she would tell the class it was ok if you knew who did (blank) and to slip one hand up and then put it back down and everything would be fine. I never saw anyone lift a finger. I peeked.

I’m not making excuses for the cops but why couldn’t the school handle this? Further more what are the cops going to do with kids this young anyway? They can’t be charged in this incident. This is a matter for the school and the parents to settle. The problem is that school personnel are scared of to deal with the public so they immediately call the cops.

Its stories like these that define the urban metro areas of the USA versus us provincial rubes out here in flyover country.

Big city liberals warn these things happen in places like where I live, yet they don’t. It happens where they live, over and over again. Yet, their unfounded stereotype lives on.

When you see liberals even making excuses for it, as seen on Gothamist, it becomes clear they’re willing inmates in their own prison who’ve become so institutionalized they spook one another with ghost stories about the outside world to discourage escape.

Sue for $250 million...quietly settle for $3 million...the lawyer gets a million for ten hours of work and the family gets $2 million for crack and weed.
