A teenage girl who attended presidential inauguration activities in Washington earlier this month was shot to death at a Chicago park.
Police say 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton was shot in the back Tuesday and later died at University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital. An unidentified boy was shot in the leg and is being treated at the hospital. No arrests have been made.
Hadiya was a majorette with the King College Prep High School band, which performed at several inaugural events. CBS Chicago affiliate WBBM-TV reports she was also an honor student and volleyball player.

I feel really bad for all of those Chicago teenagers who were killed but didn’t get this much news coverage because they didn’t perform for King Barry at his coronation. What is the story here? That she was murdered or that she attended King Barry’s coronation?

The Facebook pitcure of a “hadiya pendleton” shows the picture of a person that looks like her, but not as clean cut. Think this is another Trayvon Martin situation where the picture used does not reflect the true person.
Media reports seem to insicate that she is not a gang member but a good honor student, yet she was hanging around with gang members!!!
I could believe Barry and/or Rahm were behind this shooting knowing it would make national headlines that they and their fellow gun grabbers could exploit to push their anti-gun agendas.

Please tell me how you know that she was hanging around with gang members. She has one photo on her facebook that she took of herself against a school wall. That doesn't make her Trayvon Martin.

Barry commented publicly on the inter-racial Treyvon Martin shooting yet he remains silent on the larger threat to African-Americans, black on black crime.
That there were over 500 murders in Chicago last year yet none of them warranted his attention. He didn't take on "gun violence" until there was a school shooting in the northeast AFTER the election.
Even with Chicago's tough gun restrictions, gangstas still do things The Chicago Way.
Maybe now that someone put on a pedestal in Obama's celebration has fallen, maybe NOW some attention will be focused on Chicago's shameful display of violence that is considered "commonplace". The solutions touted by this administration do not work. Obama isn't concerned with limiting gun violence, he seeks limiting access to guns.

If your honor kid rides a school bus,goes to a concert, drives through a neighborhood on the way to somewhere, or goes to a movie, or mall, or amusement park .... do you think there might be other kids in the vicinity who are targets of thugs?

This is very sad, but its a cultural problem, not a weapon access problem. My dad and one of his brothers were teachers and principals on the south side for decades, and forty years ago there was a shooting a week in any given neighborhood. So when I hear the stats, I say to myself, that seems low. As bad as it is, I’m guessing the problem is worse than what’s being reported. This would be to make it easier to avoid the cultural issue and blame it on a politically “useful” issue like guns, rather than deal with the horribly destructive consequences of JJ and his ilk pushing failure as a way if life for the last 40 years.

Mass killings in the U.S. peaked in 1929 and Chicago was at its core. But there was no 24hr news cycle back then so the left found such tragedies harder to exploit.
