So if women are allowed into combat, the question arose, ‘does it mean that all women have to register for selective service?’ Congress has not passed a law yet, so according to the SS website, they do not have to register at the present time.

Well it certainly increasing the probability of women being subject to the draft. The courts ruled that women are not subject to the draft since women are barred from combat roles. If that is no longer the case there is no reason not to draft women. I would expect a court challenge shortly.
