Sexuality put aside, I would question anyone’s motive to desire spending the night in the woods with my son if they didn’t have their own child in the group. I’m not going to ban my kid from the scouts, but he sure as heck isn’t going on an outing unless I know all the adults and none are either homos or have questionable motives.
I’ve gone as an Adult Leader on almost all of my son’s camping trips, the good news is that at least in our troops all of the adult leaders have sons in the troop.
And aint this a damned shame, too? I was in the Boy Scouts, and would have loved to give back.
But, because I never had children, I knew my motives would be questioned, and I would be looked at oddly, so I stayed away.
Damned shame. Purest intentions; cannot partipate.
