The Dutch Government has power of course.

The monarch has almost none like every Euro monarchy except for the tiny countries of Monaco and Lichtenstein. Seems like the Queen has more a role in forming choosing the government though than say the Lizzy does in the UK because the Netherlands multi-party systems sometimes requires some neutral arbitration as there is never a majority government.

It is interesting though, the Queen is abdicating, she succeeded her mother who abdicated in 1980 who succeeded HER mother who abdicated in 1948. The last King died in 1890. If this had been several hundred years ago before figurehead monarchs and women on the throne there would have been several succession crises in the country. None of those prior Queens could birth a Prince that lived.

The soon to be new King’s heir is his eldest daughter, she’ll get it even if she eventually has a brother. (They changed the law in the UK too if Kate Middleton has a girl she will be Queen).

She’s a lovely young girl of 9 named Princess Catharina-Amalia.

Since gay marriage is so popular both there and her might I suggest we cement an alliance with the Dutch by arranging a future marriage between Princess Catharina-Amalia and soon to be Imperial Princess Sasha Hussien Obama?

What? You think I clearly need to go to sleep? Maybe you are right.
