The second of three recently scheduled Miami gun buyback events was held at an Overtown church Saturday -- with people turning everything from handguns to shotguns to assault rifles.
Seventy-nine firearms were obtained during the four-hour buyback at St. John Baptist Church at 1328 NW Third Ave., police said. An AK-47 assault rifle that was turned in was among the weapons that officers were glad to see off the streets, police Sgt. Freddie Cruz said.
Here we have a perfect example of what we need to get off the streets: It's a sawed-off AK-47 with a 40-round clip, Cruz said.
Now this is 40 rounds that can take 40 lives in less than a minute, and when they run out of ammo, they have a bayonet over here that can penetrate two people at a time, he said.

The third Miami buyback is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. next Saturday, Feb. 2, at San Juan Bosco Church at 1301 W. Flagler St. in Little Havana.

40 for 40 is good shoot'n in a New York minute, and a super bayonet!
Sgt Freddie Cruz is a genius. LOL
when they run out of ammo, they have a bayonet over here that can penetrate two people at a time,
Once the barrel is sawed off, there is no way to asttach an alleged bayonet.......
BTW that AK was legal in the configuration shown in the article during the last AWB.
So cops and reporters are lying morons. What else is new?
If an AK bayonet will go through two people at a time, the spears on my wall will go through four!
.....Huh? WHAT did he say????
At the link, I see an AK-47 and a sawed-off pump shotgun. I don’t see a “sawed-off AK-47.”
Imagine what this guy would say about a Mosin-Nagant bayonet.
Sooo,
If a gun buyback happens near me I could go and hang around and offer more money for the gun than the authorities are paying and it would be legal.
Pay my mney and just walk away in front of em all.
Sounds too good to me.
I guess the police have their fair share misinformed people like any other segment of the population.
I recently got hassled at a local gun range by a policeman. The guy did not know what an AK pistol was. He asked me if I had any documentation to prove I could own an SBR. I politely told him that the weapon was a Draco AK pistol and was not an NFA item, that said weapon was imported into this country as a pistol (it does not have a stock on it) and that it was legally purchased via an FFL.
He walked off somewhat annoyed and confused by the answer. I hope he goes back to the station to verify what I said and I hope he now knows the difference.
The guy would faint if he saw my Civil War sword.
What a dufus!

“Overtown”
Every time there’s a voluntary gun collection by Police it’s in the worst neighborhoods.
There’s an irony there. I wonder when they’ll hold one in Coral Gables or Plymouth Church in Coconut Grove?
Either “Cruz” or the guy quoting him is a total I.D.I.O.T.
I hope you are talking about Inspector Gadget and not me....LOL...
