The population centers and a few other weenie counties went Zer0 in 2012. Which leaves around half of the NY land mass voting against him(and around 1/3 by population)Even with POS Romney as the standard bearer.
In a large population state, that's a lot of conservative voters
Lots of country boys still living, shooting, hunting in the Empire State. Though I for one am looking to relocate to a constitution loving state. I have Cowboy Action shooting friends in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico and hope to check those area out (well. Not so much New Mexico )

Land masses don't vote. NY sucks because of new Yorkers; not only does the majority of the population want to be slaves, but they want the rest of the country enslaved too. The heart of darkness is NYC Even when I lived there the attitude of most of the people I worked with and knew was insufferably smug and self absorbed, and above all liberal. Mention guns and it was if you wanted to discuss incest.
