Some big names in the hunting media and vending have stood up to the organizers of the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show. Following the tragic shooting in December at Sandy Hook School in Connecticut, and President Obamas sweeping executive orders on gun violence, many states and organizations have themselves pushed for changes in certain gun and ammunition restrictions. Reed Exhibitions, organizers of the show in Pennsylvania, followed suit and imposed restrictions on the display of assault weapons and high capacity ammunition magazines.
From their web site:
As a hunting-focused event, we welcome exhibitors who wish to showcase products and firearms that serve the traditional needs of the sport. Clearly, we strongly support the 2nd Amendment. However, this year we have made the decision not to include certain products that in the current climate may attract negative attention that would distract from the strong focus on hunting and fishing at this family-oriented event and possibly disrupt the broader positive experience of our guests.
ESS is proud to participate in the preservation and promotion of the rich hunting and fishing tradition passed from generation to generation by American families.
The show, billed as the largest on the east coast, runs from February 2-10. The effect this weekend was swift as big names in the industry made their opinions known on social media outlets. One of the major sponsors, Cabelas, completely pulled out of the event.
From the Cabelas Facebook page:
Due to recent changes made by Reed Exhibitions regarding the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show, Cabelas will no longer sponsor this years event. After careful consideration regarding Cabelas business practices, and the feelings of our customers, Cabelas will, unfortunately, not have a presence at the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show.

I'm glad Cabela's did this. I'm even planning a trip to the Scarborough store during this stupid show to lend my support.
But you have no 2A right to be able to see, touch, smell, or buy AR-15s from this show, or any other private enterprise.
They made a stupid business decision, and now they will pay a price.
But they have no ability to infringe your 2A rights, and they haven't.
I hope everyone that supports 2A boycotts everyone of these Aholes.
Anyone who bows to Obama deserves the same treatment.
Ruger also just pulled out.
Per their Facebook Page:
Ruger James Ritter & Lance Martin: Ruger has decided not to attend the upcoming Eastern Sports Show. We are very frustrated by Reed Exhibitions’ foolish decision to ban the display of modern sporting rifles. We feel that, as one of America’s firearms manufacturers, we must withdraw from the show as a commitment to the 2nd Amendment rights of our customers. Nonetheless, we are very disappointed not to be attending the Eastern Sports Show. We were looking forward to attending the show for the first time this year and meeting and supporting the 200,000+ sportsmen and women that attend this great celebration of the outdoors. We hope the show will be successful for the many outfitters and other vendors who depend on the show for their annual business.

They have “screwed the pooch” by siding with the gun control advocates. I do hope that they enjoy the trip back to the UK.
Which makes sense, since Progressive Insurance is run by a very left-wing jerk names Peter Lewis who has donated many millions to left-wing politicians.
