Thursday Jan 17, Tom Brokaw was given time on MSNBC to tell the Founding Fathers the self-evident truths they laid their lives on the line for are farfetched.
Are we lucky, or what? Our talking heads know so much more than the men who pledged their lives, their sacred honor to free us from the tyranny of Kings and establish real freedom.
Brokaw spoke with Andrea Mitchell. He aimed his remarks at people who believe in the Constitution by saying, in a scholarly formal tone (which passes for derision in his circles), that 2nd Amendment types who say the Amendment is there to protect citizens from government tyranny are 'pretty outlandish'.
'I have to keep my weapon because the government's going to come and try to take it away from me, and I have to be able to fight back when that happens,'" Brokaw said. "Well that's the most far-reaching thing you can possibly imagine."
He expanded that utterance with, "If we get to a stage where storm troopers show up on your doorstep, it's about a lot more guns, by the way, it's anarchy in this country."
Tom? No kidding, brother. And by the way that was your 'outside voice', sir. The one you should guard against using because that's the voice which reveals vacuity, emptiness, lack of understanding and general boorishness. Let's see what George Washington has to say to you in reply.

This is worth reading in its entirety. It is difficult to tell by the way this article appeared at its source whether it was written by Thomas Lifson or Michael Geer. I apologise if I credited the wrong author.
In any case, this is a great source for founding father quotes about the need for individual citizens owning guns.
Lamestream media folks are so out of touch. If they were around during the Revolutionary war, they would have supported the British.

Really? How about the government allowing a rioting group of “African-Americans” to run amok through a neighborhood for 4 days where there is no gun-ownership because the residents are peace-loving Jews?
It was called Crown Heights, and it was in August, 1991. And what did you do in response, Tom? Did you equate the tragic, but accidental death of a black child with the deliberate murder of a young Jewish man?
I don’t know. But, during the 2003 presidential debates, Tom, you asked al Sharpton if he’d apologize for promoting accusations made by Tawana Brawley, who accused six white New York policemen of raping her. Al didn’t, but you didn’t even bother to ask Sharpton (who had previously demanded an apology from Gov. Howard Dean for his remarks about pickup trucks and the Confederate Flag) to apologize for his actions during the Crown Heights riots in 1991.
Outlandish, Tom? Not as outlandish as you still being employed.
Of course the battles of Lexington and Concord weren’t fought over some cannons and munitions held by the rabble hoard who were defying the King.

I’m 63 years old and since I was a child I’ve known that the purpose of the second amendment was to hold the government at bay. I was taught this in school. Amazing how far we’ve fallen.

There are many reasons for adding the 2nd amendment.

Brokaw is a disgusting symptom of liberal hate.
He should ask 6 million European Jews. But he can not, because they were killed in the Holocaust after Hitler took the peoples weapons.

To all 2A advocates: Don't automatically cite something unless you've checked it out for yourself. You may make yourself look like a fool, if the citation can be easily debunked. There is enough good information out there to use.
