15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies.
Isn’t it likely that the private sector developed these innovative safety technologies in the first place?
Also, is it just me, or is the the Attorney General involved in too many of these “directives”?
You’re correct. Medical databases are collecting all sort of information. However I don’t believe it should be illegal for my doctor to ask, not should I be penalized in any way for refusing to answer. And no, can’t control your wife and kids, only educate them.
Thanks for your concern, but I believe that to be a “federal agent” one must be employed by the feds, or be a contractor for the feds. Someone who simply reports information to them - like an accountant or a doctor - is not a federal agent. If so, then every employer in the country would be a federal agent by dint of reporting their employees’ wages to the IRS.
Anyhow, I will not disclose the ownership of any item of my property to any person who does not have a need to know - with ME being the person who determines the “need to know.”
All noise no real action, all feel good and propaganda.

Next thing you know the pompous a$$ will be playing doctor with ‘em.It makes my skin crawl to see this fascist POS around children.
It’s even worse. They can make you wait till they run a background check. (see exec order #5 above) Notice there is no time frame mentioned so this could take several days.
Interesting hug for that child by obama.
I remember seeing GW Bush hug a child and he got down on one knee and embraced the kids with a real hug.
I can't wait till one or more of them asks me if I own a firearm.

I’m OK with MD’s talking about guns as long as its pertinent, and I think it often is. For example, asking the elderly wife of an Alzeimer’s patient if all of the firearms accounted for, and to think real hard whether she’s accounted for all of them.
Having said that, I think firearms fall into a general categorey of dangers to be addressed, but there is no reason for an MD to document whether you own a firearm or not. I remember getting pamphlets home from the pediatrician addressing swimming pool safety, and I didn’t own a pool. I firearms would be a natural part of any child safety brochure. I’m sure the NRA would provide one if asked.
A particularly obnoxious MD that wants to share their Leftist views on firearms can be quickly dismissed with, “Excuse me, but I’m not here for a lesson in socialism, I just want to make use of your medical skills.”
My wife is an ER doc and one of her first questions to an incoming gunshot wound is, “Got any weapons on you?” It helps prevent loaded weapons falling off the cart while moving the patients. She also talks to families of Baker Acted (mentally ill and dangerous) folks, wherein she discusses whether they have access to weapons around the house that perhaps they should secure before the 72hr Baker Act expires.

Such as a doctor receiving federal payments, especially as Obamacare ramps up and takes over?
It doesn't matter what we believe; it's whatever a federal court decides. It's not a stretch to think a court could decide any health care provider who receives payment from the federal government and is being directed by the federal government to ask questions pertaining to your health is a contractor and thus a federal agent.
Regardless, I wouldn't lie. I'd remind them why I came to their office and suggest we focus on that. If they persist, I'd simply refuse to answer.
