Impeaching Insincerity

By Mr. Curmudgeon:

President Ronald Reagan's Attorney General, Edwin Meese, told NewsMax that if President Obama issues an Executive Order unilaterally imposing gun control, bypassing Congress, the 44th president risks impeachment. The former top cop is very old fashioned, and out of touch with modern America.

By old fashion, I mean Meese's presumption that America is a nation of laws and not men. That Obama believes he can rule by royal proclamation is a product of supreme confidence; a confidence born of the eroding force of law on government power. Re-interpretations by the nation's Progressive high court allow today's government to ignore the letter of the law. If the Constitution says, "Congress shall make no law" abridging our right to bear arms, that doesn't apply to the president ... right?

The purpose behind restraining government was to prevent its ever becoming so powerful that force is its primary means of governance. This allowed the greatest amount of freedom for the greater number of people. It's no coincidence that as government grows in arbitrary power, its looming shadow eclipses our freedoms.

And notice that those who call for greater government restraint are deemed "extremist," while those advocating greater government force are defined as "mainstream" and "compassionate." This is what George Orwell, in his novel 1984, called "doublespeak."

In an essay titled Politics and the English Language (1946), Orwell wrote, "In our time, political speech and writing are largely the defense of the indefensible ... Thus political language has to consist largely of euphemism, question-begging and sheer cloudy vagueness ... the great enemy of clear language is insincerity."

And thus a horrendous, unaffordable government-run health care regime is called the "Affordable Care Act"; Washington's rifling of national wealth in a time of economic depression is "stimulus"; granting billions of tax dollars to the commercially unviable wind and solar industries are "investments"; and raising the debt ceiling, says Obama, promotes "the financial well-being of the American people."

Orwell was too kind in labeling political doublespeak an expression of "insincerity." His assumption was that rhetorical packaging by politicians is responsible for the erosion of freedom. The far darker aspect of doublespeak is how easily people fall for it.

"I know no safe depository of the ultimate powers of the society but the people themselves," wrote Thomas Jefferson, "and if we think them not enlightened enough to exercise their control with a wholesome discretion, the remedy is not to take it from them, but to inform their discretion by education. This is the true corrective of abuses of constitutional power."

That education is just beginning. For now, lawful gun-owners are a small test segment of American society that Obama will "inform" at his "discretion by education." For the president to pay with impeachment for his executive impudence, as Ed Meese suggests, Americans will have to pay attention during the lessons to come.

And with recent history as our guide, I wouldn't hold my breath.

The SOB stole the election. Did anything happen to him for THAT? No wonder he thinks he can get away with anything.

This attitude of seeming tired nor standing firm for the rule of law ( of ones intentions; which come from a personal conviction), is becoming very difficult to rally behind. The words the author quoted are elegantly stated by Thomas Jefferson. We cannot become weak because nothing positive will come from that. If Obama overreaches (again), the Congress will need our full support (not ridicule or impressions of un compassionateness ( the true spirit) of respecting the law. I think we all need to rest, to be strong, united so to protect the very things we do believe in. Don’t feel hopeless or become weakened from the constant assault from the opposition to liberty. We are on the right side of liberty. No man can rule over the people and lie to the people as he is doing without some consequences.

the democrats have been ‘testing hte water’ for a number of years now by blatantly putting forth ‘bold’ proposals that they know the right will be upset about- and when the left saw that the right had NO BACKBONE, they went in al ittle deeper into hte water and hten a little deeper, until we now see them no longer testign hte water, but simply blatantly foisting unconstitutional crap on us knowing full well that NOONE will lift a figner to stop them

NY is all set to trample the cosntitutional right of all it’s citzens, not just hte citzens in large cities, but all aqcross the state now- knowign full well that noone iwll stand up to htem just as noone stood up to them when they outlawed guns in the larger cities- they tested hte water and founf out htat NOONE will EVER hold htem accoutnable for their unconstitutional actions- and when odarhma rammed through his hell-th care- cuomo knew the left no longer had any reason to fear the supreme court or the american people-

We are at a crossroad, and we’d all better practice wavign goodbye to hte freedoms we uised to know- because hte left has been let off it’s leash by the American people and they are free to do whatever the hell they want now-

[[If Obama overreaches (again),]]

He’s been overeaching for 4 years now and Americans have doen nothign about it- nor will they do anythign abotu further violations to our rights-

[[No man can rule over the people and lie to the people as he is doing without some consequences.]]

Yes he can- Who is goign to stop it? Nation after nation has fallen to this very type of lying, and now citizens acrost the globe who were once enjoying rights no logner have them- Europe is a prime example- it’s happening here in America in one city after another- these liars are stripping America of her rights lkittle by little- and apparently America does NOT care- otherwise they woudl have thrown this commie socialist out of office before his first term was up- instead they reelected him sendign al oud and clear message that they simpyl do NOT care anymore- As long as htey git they’re Gubmint ‘Freebie’ Stimulus check for $200 dollars a year, they thing hte left cares deeply abotu htem- The peopel of America are under a very strong delusion- they have been bewitched-

AUTHOR: Benjamin Franklin (1706–90)

QUOTATION: “Well, Doctor, what have we got—a Republic or a Monarchy?”
“A Republic, if you can keep it.”

I would say with the low information voters now in control it does appear to me that we are NOT going to keep it. Something very very dramatic will have to occur to wake the rest of the people - much worse than 911.

I wuill be VERY surprised IF there are enough great Americvans left who will stand up agaisnt the tyranny we are facing- I certainly don’t see the NRA doing a damn thing abotu this blatant violation- excvept tisk tisk-ing cuomo- and I certainly don’t see thaqt anyoen has acted in years past as myrriad violations to our constitutional rights aver been perpetrated agaisnt us-

America spokel oud and clear when they reelected the so called pres for 4 more years, they said they coudl care less abotu keeping the republic- Again, it’s happenign right efore our eyes-

I don’t think he expected to win. He didn’t campaign to win. I don’t think he wanted to win. I believe he was genuinely surprised by the win and how effecting the cheating was in some of the major cites.

I do understand. I realize the point of history and know things you have shared are very true. The backbone of this country, which holds our personal safety and security as a country together is the 2nd Amendment. We may be apart of a turning point of our history. The American people have been very patient to have allowed the Congress to be our fire wall, our voice, to slow his unconstitutional governance down with congressional oversight; those roadblocks to overturn his unconstitutional actions to even rebuking him. They have failed us terribly.

There are a few Congress people who have publicly stated if Obama overreaches with the 2nd amendment and the debt ceiling, there will be a impeachment resolution. We must be patient a little longer and pray for God’s guidance to reach upon these few good men and women who represent us to prevent a breakdown of a civil disobedience to their government. We have two choices-be strong, lawful at this time and stand for liberty when if necessary or become royal subjects. These representatives must not fail the people; if they do, the patriots will defend all freedom. I think if I have this correct, it was only a third of the population, that was willing to fight for the liberty and the freedoms that we now have enjoyed after fighting against tyranny from England. We are living in a dangerous and critical crossroads mostly due to the no opposition voices will not stand up to him. He is pushing an agenda of his on us; it's not America's agenda. May God keep us all safe and guide all patriotic citizens.

"raising the debt ceiling, says Obama, promotes "the financial well-being of the American people."

I find it unimaginable that 2013 Obozo gets away with this when 2007 Obozo said: "The problem is, that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years, is to take out a credit card with the Bank of China,

in the name of our children, driving up our national debt over $4 Trillion by his lonesome ...."

(I just can't watch the rest to finish transcribing what this cretin says, you may if you can bear it.)

Debt ceiling skyrockets, Obama no longer calls Bush 'unpatriotic' for increases

Why is this liar-in-chief not confronted with such inconsistencies every time someone gets to ask him one or more questions?

It's a rhetorical 'why'. I know the answer. It's all cooked into the brew. Drink the coolaid, you'll love it!

[[I think if I have this correct, it was only a third of the population, that was willing to fight for the liberty and the freedoms that we now have enjoyed after fighting against tyranny from England.]]

Sadly though- I don’t think you will find even 1/3 of 1 percent these days that will fight for hteir freedoms because we see district after district, city after city, county after county, that have given up their rights to bear arms, and we’ve just witnessed the whole country cave into the unconstitutional health care act without anyone takign a stand agaisnt it-

These thigns woudl ghave NEVER happened 50-100 years ago- never! thsoe in office realized back then that the people were not to be trifled with or they woudl lose their cushy gubmint jobs- but today America simply does not care what the left does or how many rights we lose-

I really really hope I’m wrong, and I pray that we witness an uprising (legal) where americans make a very clear point that we are NOT goign to allow ANY official to tamper with our constitutional rights- and that if they insist on trying, they will be removed from office- irregardless of whether they won via landslide or not- if they FAIL to provide even the slightest protectiosn to our cosntitutional rights, they need to go

I’m very doubtful we will see such an organized effort at preventign the cuomo’s of this nation from trampling our rights- I woudl be elated with even 1/4 of the population- but sadly I don’t see even this small amount even carign any longer that they will lose their rights-

Even if they know the Senate will acquit the ILLEGAL ALIEN IN CHIEF, the House of Representatives MUST IMPEACH Obama NOW !
Read Seventy Seven Articles of Impeachment against Obama.

The Arab-Kenyan Barack Hussein Obama II, (a.k.a. Barry Soetoro), ( the one guilty of TREASON ! ) has NO legitimate Social Security Number.
His father was NOT an immigrant to the United States. Barack Obama Sr. was a "Transient Alien" because he did NOT intend on residing in the United States permanently.
Barack Obama Sr. was a dual citizen of Great Britain and Kenya, and NEVER a United States Citizen. His mother could NOT impart U.S. citizen to her son, Barack Obama II, because she did NOT meet the legal requirements to do so,
at the time her son was born IN the Coast Provincial General Hospital, MOMBASA, KENYA at 7:21 pm on August 4, 1961.
Democrats knew this and tried to eliminate the "Natural Born Citizen" requirement at least 8 times BEFORE Obama won his election in 2008.

Obama is NOT a United States Citizen, and is NOT a LEGAL IMMIGRANT.
He has no VISA allowing him into this country.
Barack Hussein Obama II IS ILLEGAL !
He should be IMPEACHED IMMEDIATELY, tried for TREASON, SENTENCED to death, and then have his body deported back to Kenya.

[[I find it unimaginable that 2013 Obozo gets away with this when 2007 Obozo said: “The problem is, that the way Bush has done it over the last eight years, is to take out a credit card with the Bank of China]]

the fact is that the Dear leader could literally crap on his audience, and convince them that it was for their own good, and they woudl fall at his feet weeping tears of joy and elation-

NOTHING the left does anymore will ever be held accoutnable- they don’t even bother tryign to hide their lies and hypocrisy any logner, and reall,y why shoudl they? They don’t face ANYONE who gives a crap any more- even the supreme court doesn’t care-

America is under a powerful delusion- they have been bewitched- and truth and consistancy and morality no longer paly any part in our nation-

IF the republicans had been smart- they woudl have tried to pass a law outlawing guns (or at least made it seem like they were tryign to) and you can bet your aunt fannies farm that the left woudl have screamed bloodty murder- and woudl have demanded that the supreme court put a stop to such an unconstitutional act- Had the GOP been smart enough, they coudl have used the left’s stupidity agaisnt htem by forcign hte left to pass laws preventign the trampling of rights- (Sure, the idiots on the left woudl still be agaisnt guns, but their drive to ‘out maneuver’ the right woudl have been so powerful that they woudl have walked right into the trap-

But- it’s much too late now, because the right has let the left take control of the situation, and the right hasn’t been able to figure out how to stand up agaisnt the left whom the right are apaprently nowe afraid of
