The "or" makes the first condition true in all cases of possession of a firearm.

The 2nd amendment clearly does not give Government the right to regulate any kind of fire arm. If you go down the road of reasoning that they are using then where does it stop? When there is one worthless gun left that is not illegal.

These laws are highly unconstitutional. But don’t expect the USSC to ever put a stop to it. They have been infiltrated by the same groups of people that are responsible for this. Including the chief Justice Roberts. The USSC is now a lawless body of which the states should put on ignore.

Just got this from Todd Aldinger works in the Senate.

Rus. Looked into this for you. You have to read section 265.20 of the penal law which says this does not apply to non-felons, police, soldiers, etc. http://public.leginfo.state.ny.us/LAWSSEAF.cgi?QUERYTYPE=LAWS+&QUERYDATA=$$PEN265.20$$@TXPEN0265.20+&LIST=LAW+&BROWSER=BROWSER+&TOKEN=48840498+&TARGET=VIEW

From a member of my local Rochester discussion forum:

RochesterConservative.com

Here's the "Hall of Shame" of Republican state senators who voted FOR Cuomo's gun banning law:

P Boyle - 4 - R J Flanagan - 2 - R,C C Fuschillo - 8 - R M Golden - 22 - R,C K Hannon - 6 - R,C A Lanza - 24 - R K Lavalle - 1 - R,C J Martins - 7- R D Skelos - 9 - R,C

L Zeldin - 3 - R,C "Absent"

They are 100% Long Island downstate state senators who bowed down and kissed Cuomo's ring. Pathetic pukes.

I can't believe many of them are so-called "Conservatives".

They're not conservatives, they're quislings to the tyrant Cuomo!

The poor English seems to say that it is illegal to possess any firearm purchased after the date specified in the new langauge, or any firearm purchased before the date in the new language and not legally regustered before that date.

In short, the poor English sounds to me like all previously registered firearms are grandfathered in and everything else is illegal.

This is what we call a “long sentence”. They happen. You have to read the sentence all the way to the end before you judge its meaning.

Whew! Thank goodness!

Now all New York children are safe in school! Kids can emerge from their homes, blinking in the light, and frolic in the streets— secure in the knowledge that shooting them down indiscriminately is even MORE illegal than it already was.

That crazed gunman, with his new double-secret illegal firearm is going to have to think for an extra second or two, contemplating: should he survive after razing dozens of kids in the still completely defenseless (even more defenseless now) school, he may actually be slapped with [gasp] yet another felony charge.

I’m so proud to be an enlightened American today!

New York ratified the US Constitution with the following words voted for and approved by the ratification convention including Alexander Hamilton and John Jay, two of the three authors of The Federalist Papers (Link):

We, the delegates of the people of the state of New York, duly elected and met in Convention, having maturely considered the Constitution for the United States of America, agreed to on the 17th day of September, in the year 1787, by the Convention then assembled at Philadelphia, in the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, (a copy whereof precedes these presents,) and having also seriously and deliberately considered the present situation of the United States, — Do declare and make known, —

...

That the people have a right to keep and bear arms; that a well-regulated militia, including the body of the people capable of bearing arms, is the proper, natural, and safe defence of a free state.

...

Under these impressions, and declaring that the rights aforesaid cannot be abridged or violated, and that the explanations aforesaid are consistent with the said Constitution, and in confidence that the amendments which shall have been proposed to the said Constitution will receive an early and mature consideration, — We, the said delegates, in the name and in the behalf of the people of the state of New York, do, by these presents, assent to and ratify the said Constitution. ...
