Biden: W.H. readies 19 executive actions on guns By: Reid J. Epstein January 14, 2013 06:49 PM EST

The White House has identified 19 executive actions for President Barack Obama to move unilaterally on gun control, Vice President Joe Biden told a group of House Democrats on Monday, the administration’s first definitive statements about its response to last month’s mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Later this week, Obama will formally announce his proposals to reduce gun violence, which are expected to include renewal of the assault weapons ban, universal background checks and prohibition of high-capacity magazine clips. But Biden, who has been leading Obama’s task force on the response, spent two hours briefing a small group of sympathetic House Democrats on the road ahead in the latest White House outreach to invested groups.

The focus on executive orders is the result of the White House and other Democrats acknowledging the political difficulty of enacting any new gun legislation, a topic Biden did not address in Monday’s meeting.

“It was all focusing on enforcing existing law, administering things like improving the background database, things like that that do not involve a change in the law but enforcing and making sure that the present law is administered as well as possible,” said Rep. Bobby Scott (D-Va.).

But Biden did indicate that the remains of the Obama campaign apparatus may be activated in the effort.

“He said that this has been a real focus on the policy and that the politics of this issue, that a strategy on the politics of the issue hasn’t been undertaken yet,” Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) told POLITICO. “He did remind us that the campaign infrastructure is still accessible.”

This thread has deteriorated to the point where I believe We The People CAN’T see this through to the end.

If we can’t stand together as Freepers...how the HECK are we (you men, especially)...going to stand together against tyranny?

Answer: See his record as Governor in Mass...What did he do there?

Or do we pretend that record of governance isn’t real?

Mr Biden’s last name is pronounced Ger-Bels

Now, now. Joseph Goebbels was a murderous anti-semite, and a fascist who helped destroy representative government in his country, and launch it on a blood thirsty course of aggression.

Joseph Biden is none of those things.

Of course Goebbels was also highly intelligent, a shrewd estimator of public opinion (at least before he got too full of himself), a man who built a thriving opposition party apparatus in a district (Berlin) where most of the population was adamantly opposed to it, a skilled propagandist who first managed his party's advertising in its rise to power, then both drummed up popular domestic support for his ruler's murderous schemes, while undermining foreign opposition, and a skilled administrator who did the last two things while simultaneously running the newspaper, magazine, book, radio and film industries, and pioneering the television industry, and acting as regional governor of a district with a population of millions.

Biden on the other hand does good to remember to comb his hair so that the plugs don't show.

Frankly, I’m beginning to see how dictatorships happen. The public won’t get involved, especially violently, and they are too complacent or agree. I truly feel doomed. “We the People” are not the same as our Founding Fathers. The Dems won by educating the youngsters & minorities.

Try getting some of the men to admit what the problem actually is and ho we got here.

As long as they keep up ignoring it, there is no hope. Because I refuse to stand with anyone that refused to accept demonstrated fact.

Fact: People ‘compromised’ principle to get ‘winnable’ republicans elected for DECADES.

Fact: Those republicans now compromise our rights and refuse to defend the constitution.

If people refuse to accept that fact, when they prove it in DC over the various financial issues and every other ‘compromise’ they make with libs, then it’s over.

>”We need to remember he is our President and not our king”<

I will go out on a limb here and predict that most FReepers have a whole bunch of trouble looking at the Mulatto Marxist and think to themselves, THAT is MY President.

I think the actual number is probably somewhere between ZERO and well, ZERO.

This from the article:

“But Biden did indicate that the remains of the Obama campaign apparatus may be activated in the effort.”

Think we’re going to learn more about that other army - “as well equipped as the military”....

We must choose to give up, or fight to save what we can. You are right about not having any optimal choices, but some can't accept reality. I think our best option will be a new union or alliance of states and breakaway areas within states brought together by an admiration of our founding fathers, and belief that our constitution is worth fighting for.

No offense, but it appears to me that YOU like to argue your point. Over and over and over again.

IF IF IF we had a Time Machine to take us back to that day in November....I’d say have at it.

We do not.

We are here today. And if we do NOT stand together from this point forward...we fall.

I want us to not fall.

West needed to relocate to N Fl or panhandle .
That part of Fl has been overrun and outside of Martin county.
All the other SE Fl counties are lost .
His old district was becoming more and more black and Haitian and third worldish .

Well since you do not dispute my point, why not ask why it is that others argue it?

Because if they didn’t argue the truth of it, I wouldn’t have to repeat it.

Perhaps they will then start fixing the problem instead of repeating it. Ya Think?

NO I WILL NOT
It is not required under the 2nd Amendment.

2013 will be 45 years of Gun laws and Gun bans.
All of which were going to make America safer.
And all of which have failed.
Talk about being, “Stuck On Stupid”.
