After two years of failing to pass a bill in Colorado that would have allowed illegal immigrants to pay tuition lower than out-of-state rates but higher than in-state rates, Democrats now in control of both chambers are pushing new legislation to allow the students to go to college at the in-state rate.
"What we're looking at is a simpler, more equitable approach to tuition," said state Sen. Mike Johnston, D-Denver, one of the lawmakers leading the effort. Johnston and state Rep. Crisanta Duran, D-Denver, are are holding a press conference Tuesday with supporters of the bill.

Erika Andiola, a prominent illegal immigrant Dream Act activist who qualified for President Obamas new non-deportation policy, said her mother and older brother were arrested at their Arizona home overnight Thursday, but both have been released following the outcry and pressure on Homeland Security officials.
But she and other activists said the arrest should push the administration to halt all deportations and instead legalize the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the U.S. something they said Hispanics earned through the power of their votes in the 2012 elections.
I will keep fighting for it, Ms. Andiola said. We want President Obama to keep his word on immigration reform.Ms. Arreola was picked up in a traffic stop last month in Mesa, Ariz., but was released after immigration authorities decided not to detain her at that time. Marielena Hincapie, executive director of the National Immigration Law Center, said she another victim of driving while brown under Arizonas new law that allows police to check the immigration status of those they encounter and suspect of being in the country illegally
Ms. Andiola said she wasnt sure why her family was targeted. In a statement, ICE press secretary Barbara Gonzalez said that after a review, both the mother and brother appeared to be candidates for prosecutorial discretion even though one of them has been ordered deported.

So will it be being deported will no longer counts in Obama's push for amnesty ? So much for all those must this illegal meet these conditions...
These people are freaking insane. We’re broke...as a nation. Bankrupt...and these sleezebags want to keep shoveling out the skittles?!? Shut them down, HARD!
A “simpler, more equitable approach to tuition” would be to send all of them back to Mexico and Central America where they belong and educate Americans and legal immigrants in our state institutions.
In California, Mexican invaders get in-state tuition while the many military men and women stationed there have to pay out-of-state rates. It is VERY much more expensive for out-of state, something like triple at state universities.
Exactly right! And why would we give ILLEGALS in state tuition if we screw over our own citizens! It’s maddening that they demand rights here that their native country refuses to give.
The military gets out-of-state rates and then the state still comes after them for taxes until they prove they are official residents of other states.
It's actually rather treasonous and should result in the death penalty.
Maybe these ‘RAT politicians would like to pick up the tab for this out of THEIR OWN PERSONAL MONEY. Forcing the taxpayers to pay for the RATS’ payback to their voter base is a disgrace.
Just .... Ping.

Law? What law? We don't have law in the United States.
That makes sense from the left wing’s perspective. Someone who enters our country illegally and enrolls in a Colorado college illegally should pay less than my children if they dare to enroll legally from a different state. I’d better go read some Alice, so I can believe six impossible things before breakfast and relate to liberals.
Texas has had the DREAM ACT for over a decade no thanks to Gov. Rick Perry. And to think I constantly got flamed for not liking him in the run for the presidency.
