Wyoming Introduces Bill To Nullify Any Federal Gun Control Measures, Jail Federal Agents
Cowboy Bytes ^ | January 13, 2013

This week, Wyoming lawmakers introduced a bill banning the federal government from enforcing an assault weapons ban or a prohibition on high-capacity magazines in the state, calling the effort an attempt to “take the Second Amendment seriously.”

The bill, which is sponsored by eight Wyoming state representatives and two state senators, calls for federal agents who attempt to enforce those measures to be imprisoned for at least one year and up to five years, and fined a maximum of $5,000.

It also contains broad language prohibiting any “public servant … or dealer selling any firearm in this state” from enforcing “any act, law, statute, rule or regulation of the United States government relating to a personal firearm, firearm accessory or ammunition that is owned or manufactured commercially or privately in Wyoming and that remains exclusively within the borders of Wyoming.”

Obama's misstep here on the " infringement" of our Constitutional right to bare arms is likely an Obamaisk diversionary tactic to keep Benghazi Gate and Fast & Furious on the back pages. John Kerry would "clean" this skullduggery up??? What planet do 'they' think we're on...........

Good on Wyoming for standing tall in the face of Washington tyranny!!!

How are the property values there?

I would like a small place in the middle of ten acres, out in the country.

There are some parts of Wyoming when you could probably pick up ten acres for a $100...

Arizona got in a jam when it tried state laws to enforce the existing federal laws — imagine what will happen now that Wyoming passes laws to enforce the existing Constitution of the United States.

Thanks yoe.

Well of course they can pull this off. Do the questionables on this thread actually think that if the feds sent in armed agents to enforce this, that it would go unanswered? It would be the spark that set things in motion, and hence, start of the downfall for Odumbo!! God Bless Wyoming!!

Wyoming has the right to ignore those laws is chooses not to enforce, just as the Federal Government does.

Nullification was one of the 19th c issues that got settled by the Civil War, so no, but regardless, this bill in Wyoming merely states that firearms manufactured in Wyoming and sold and used and owned in Wyoming are not under federal jurisdiction.

You can't open carry, and you need a permit to carry concealed; IOW- you have to pay for the right, and that's wrong.

This should be interesting.

After making this grandstand play does the WY legislature have the cajones to get in zero’s grill and pass it??

I’m going to buy a bit more popcorn in the hopes that they do. This could be fun to watch!

I haven’t heard Palin speck out on the gun issue. Have you heard anything from her?

I never look at Fuax news, so I don't know what she says, except for reading info here and elsewhere.

I can think of two reasons we haven't heard from her:

1) she realizes things are too far gone to make any big difference -- so why be a lightning rod, or

2)She is waiting for the Marxist to make his move on guns and then come at him with a blistering frontal attack.

It is my hope it's (2) and that she is unrelenting in her criticisms of the Marxist and the GOP-e. I hope she resigns Fuax news this year and goes on the road and battles the left and the disgusting GOP-e.

...calls for federal agents who attempt to enforce those measures to be imprisoned for at least one year and up to five years, and fined a maximum of $5,000.

If the legislators in Wyoming are really serious about it, they'd go further, and make clear that because federal agents who attempt to enforce such rules would be acting without any legitimate Constitutional authority, an attempt to enforce such rules by forcibly detaining someone would constitute kidnapping, breaking into an unoccupied dwelling would constitute burglary, breaking into an occupied dwelling for the purpose of accosting persons therein would be robbery, etc. If anyone dies as a consequence of such crimes, the charge would be murder. Additionally, if the state can provide clear and convincing proof that such actions were taken in collaboration with other people from outside the state, it would be authorized to regard that as evidence of extreme flight risk, and deny bail on such basis.
