Just like healthcare “reform” in Obamacare had no impact on all the real problems theretofore facing healthcare, i.e. tort reform, interstate transferability of insurance, fraud, etc.

Neera Tanden was very effective this morning attempting to reach those middle ground, low information voters. She stayed on message calmly and professionally stressing a few talking points such as universal background checks and common sense gun control.

Yep, the left is always effective with low information voters using poll and focus tested words to distort the truth and provide "solutions" that won't work.

I agree that Pratt was a poor spokesperson for the issue, but that is why Wallace had him on. Someone from the NRA would have destroyed Tanden so actually Fox was taking it easy on Tanden.

I was waiting for Pratt to question whether universal background checks were effective and practical, not to mention an infringement on our liberties. Is Tanden saying that all private sales must now go through a background check? If my uncle wants to sell me his gun, does he have to go through a background check on me? This is nonsense, not common sense.

I wish I had time for football too busy building fishing rods.

LOL

After suffering through the first few minutes of Fat Guy Football / Magical Mystery Tour NFL Officiating (along with the totally inane babbling from the media "presenters"), I was either growling at the TV set or punching MUTE so often that Grandma came in and told me to go shovel snow or something before I got the cat all in an uproar again. (Three-pound cat does not like it when her serenity is disturbed and will go start brawls with any dog she can locate in retribution.)

So I went in and got our Just-Restored-The-Other-Day internet back into operation.

....can't believe the amount of crap gets collected in your email if you don't sweep and purge the thing at least once a day.

Anyway, the Broncos and Packers are done for this year, so I've about run out of excuses to bother with the TV set again until next fall. (And actually, after watching the game get turned into a contest decided by Who's-Got-The-Most-Players-Weigh-350, I may just take my Old School Football self out of that NFL spectator role altogether.)

Between that and flatly refusing to inflict this Sunday Morning stuff on myself (other than coming here to catch the catcalls), I've got to sit with Grandma and decide how much we really want to bother with the stupid TV anymore. (Or maybe I'll just "forget" to maintain that cable run out to the antenna farm.......) Cripes, the only thing even the Grandkids watch that much is our collection of ancient Disney VHS movies.

Well Mr. Animal.....you could be right as this has often been alluded to....Hillary and her problem with booze.

If so, why does she still have the job?
You and I look and act like that, we’re fired.

and Colin Powell is despicable, as someone reminded the treason he committed on Scooter Libby, though I blame ballless Dubya for allowing it to happen.

There’s even a stunning compilation of pics somewhere on the web of Hillary drinking everywhere, all the time.

The moment the liar nothing-burger Colin Powell said Hillary’s done so much as Sec of State the other loser-burger on the set, David Gregory, should have immediately challenged Powell to name one good thing the Hill has done as SecState.

But Gregory would never do anything that might resemble Journalism, silly me.

I’m going with the drinking problem.

People who drink heavily are known to be unkempt and in disarray as far as their physical appearance goes.

But it’s no problem.

She goes into Rehab, she gets interviewed by Oprah, maybe nothing-burger Katie Couric (who now writes a column for Woman’s Day, can you imagine?) and she’ll boo-hoo about the pressure of Monica, the pain of Benghazi, the physical problems of ageing and many airplane rides.

She will have lost much weight and will come out looking like a million bucks.

She will tell loser-burger Katie Couric (man if only we could FAIL like that woman and keep getting more jobs) that’s she’s all healed, she plans to pass legislation to give alcoholics mooney for aid via Obamacare.

The world will cheer, and praise, and bow....

....it’s all part of the plan.

You need the TV! Its a must to know what our enemies in the DBM are doing.

Like Paul Krugman again. He's now on PBS telling Bill Moyers(guess he's still alive) some lib, that we need 300 billion more in infrastructure spending, sewers and teachers, so we can get the unemployment down to 6.5%.

Wow this guy is brilliant!Whaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! I guess he can mint a coin so the money will magically appear.

Universal background checks equal registering gun owners.

Got a gun? You’re going on a list. The government will KNOW.

Wonder how that newspaper in New York published every gun owners name and home address?

They used the government lists. That’s what a universal gun check collects: Names and addresses.

Now in New York, the bad guys know whose house to go to to get guns. Do you like that, Mr & Mrs Low Information Voter?

...only one addition:

Bronco secondary looked like they’ve all aged a bunch and/or didn’t pay much attention to the coaching or play calling yesterday.

(Last time I saw a Safety play like that last Raven TD was while watching a bunch of ten-year-olds.....)

My old HS coach ever saw us pull crap like that, we’d have run so much we’d have thought we’d gone out for Cross Country.

Let me add another thing...

Here in Alabama, I can buy a rake from someone without informing the government. I can also buy a chainsaw, a ratchet set, a cordless drill, screwdriver, level, ohmmeter and a cement mixer.

I don't have to tell the government that I did so. In other words, I can buy tools from people so I can use those tools and nobody needs to keep that information in a list, or approve, or anything. It is all up to me and the seller.

The same rules applies to guns. I can buy someone else's guns without anyone knowing. I like that. It's part of what I like to call “Freedom”.

I won't—you heard it here, from me—let some Californian senator or the even the President of the United States take my freedom away from me, just because some lunatic did a horrible thing that I would never, ever do. Where do they get off associating me with that just because some scumbag used a tool I happen to have also?

Nope. Not going to happen. Too many of us down South are committed to our freedom to let folks in Washington DC take it away so they can keep winning elections and live the high life.
