Here in Alabama, I can buy a rake from someone without informing the government. I can also buy a chainsaw, a ratchet set, a cordless drill, screwdriver, level, ohmmeter and a cement mixer.
I don't have to tell the government that I did so. In other words, I can buy tools from people so I can use those tools and nobody needs to keep that information in a list, or approve, or anything. It is all up to me and the seller.
The same rules applies to guns. I can buy someone else's guns without anyone knowing. I like that. It's part of what I like to call “Freedom”.
I won't—you heard it here, from me—let some Californian senator or the even the President of the United States take my freedom away from me, just because some lunatic did a horrible thing that I would never, ever do. Where do they get off associating me with that just because some scumbag used a tool I happen to have also?
Nope. Not going to happen. Too many of us down South are committed to our freedom to let folks in Washington DC take it away so they can keep winning elections and live the high life.
On that note, a very casual observation I've heard lately:
The last time somebody tried to disarm us led to a minor skirmish called the Revolution.
....just feels more like 1775 every second, don't it?
