HOUSTON -- A couple of strangers came to the rescue when a man was robbed at gunpoint. Now, the victim wants to say thank you to the Good Samaritans.
Police believe the criminal who was canvassing a neighborhood in the 2500 block of Wichita near Hermann Park had no idea what he was in for when he picked his target.
The victim in this case had just walked back to his car from a bar around the corner.

After reading this story I realized I was grinning from ear to ear.
Not being sarcastic but I've found that life is full of what if's.
If the conditions were as stated, i.e. the first guy was robbed at gunpoint, the second two guys were perfectly legal under Texas law to chase the SOB down and shoot his sorry rear, up to and including killing him. See Texas Penal Code, Title 2, Chapter 9.
I completely understand.
What if I was running down the road trying to catch someone I was trying to kill and 2 men came up and asked what was going on and I said “HE ROBBED ME AT GUN POINT!!!” and those two guys went and shot him dead while I ran off never to be seen again.
Again, I don’t have a problem with shooting the right guy. I have a problem with trusting the other guys word that the guy I am about to shoot is who they say he is.
If I was in that car, I would have said “well stop chasing him and consider yourself lucky”.
Had I seen it all go down the robber would likely be dead.
