Required reading when I was in the 6th grade in 1973. I wanted to become a silversmith. What are they reading now?

It’s available on DVD from Amazon. I got mine through The Disney Movie Club.

I've read this fiction by Roberts:
- Arundel (Arnold's march to Quebec. Unbelievable story of privation marching through the Maine swamps and building bateau)
- Rabble in Arms (Sequel to Arundel. Picks up after Arnold's attack on Quebec and follows the retreat of the army down the St. Lawrence River to Lake Champlain. Masterful treatment of the Battle of Valcor Island on Lake Champlain which, although a loss for the Americans, slowed the British advance down the lake to connect with the Hudson enough so that they had to return to Canada for the winter of 1776-7. This ultimately lead to the victory at Saratoga the following year.)
- Lydia Bailey
- Northwest Passage (Major Robert Rogers during the French and Indian War)
- Oliver Wiswell (the Revolution from a Loyalist point of view)

I met Walts Bookkeeper (yeah that is what he called himself) and the stories he told, I almost feel like I knew Walt.
Walt was still planning and designing Disney World on his Death Bed... on the Ceiling of his room ... he never quit.

Oh, the good ole days!

The audio is hard for us old timers but...
“Free men will never consent to giving up their liberties” rang like a crystal bell.

I remember seeing this in a school-wide assembly in elementary school (probably 1976).
America has certainly changed. I doubt a public school would allow that today.
I feel like a relic.

No, I looked it up. Hal Stalmaster played the part. Johnny Crawford was Mark McCain on The Rifleman.

Johnny Tremain - Paul Revere’s apprentice in silversmithing! Terrific movie and book. Perfect for kids.

“it is a simple movie that reflects American values unlike the current Disney Company”
I’m sure this was released by mistake and that it will be yanked off the shelves shortly. We can’t have disney actually standing for any values—it might offend some of their wdw customers.

I bought it on amazon after reading this and we watched it with our 3 kids and they LOVED IT! My youngest boy wanted to watch it again.
I wish there was a site with a catalog of conservative/patriotic movies, TV shows and books. If anyone has some good resources please share!
