OAKLAND, Calif. -- A California assemblywoman introduced a bill on Monday that aims to regulate ammunition sales.
The measure, AB48, would establish restrictions similar to those covering gun sales, including requiring sellers to be licensed and buyers to have and show valid identification.
"When we have so many safeguards in place around the purchase of guns, why is it so much easier to buy bullets, the things that make guns deadly?" Assemblywoman Nancy Skinner asked as she unveiled the measure during a news conference outside her office in Oakland.
"Today, it is easier in California to buy bullets than it is to buy alcohol, cigarettes or Sudafed cold medicine. We've had enough," she said...

I panicked Saturday when all the websites were sold out of decent .22LR so I called Bass Pro, and the local sporting goods store. Still none. I finally found some at a local gun shop but he would only sell me one brick of the 11 he had left so others could buy some. I agreed with his reasons. We are all better off having MORE compatriots armed than hoarding a lot of ammo for ourselves. You were wise to share.
Reno will become Ammo Capital of the world if this happens.
That was nice. I was at Walmart weeks ago and saw four remaining boxes of .22LR. One guy took one, the lady who was next grabbed three. The clerk asked what I wanted, and I said one of those last boxes of .22. The lady said she supposed she “could” give me one, but at the register she charged all three and left without turning around. Not so nice.

The thing that makes guns deadly is the human.
They could license homicidal thoughts... Sell licenses for homicidal thoughts for 100$ per. Anyone who commits homicide without a homicidal thought license has 20 years added to their sentence. Of course the homicide license has to have the name and other identifying information of the projected victim, and would not be transferable.
Having such a license would also be evidence of presumed homicidal premeditation.

It will also soon be easier to vote and collect benefits than buying ammo. I get all mine out of state anyway already. This must be how the Romans felt before the collapse.
There is nothing left for the libs to legislate in Sacramento,they can’t touch Proposition 13 or water rights.They can’t make laws that are too radical without getting those stricken down by a judge.They will do nothing as California continues to sink into an economic pit.
Yes, but the gun owners of CA revolted and had that law repealed, of course back then we had some republicans in the state senate and house. We also put the hit on the bill they tried to pass recently(last year)that would have banned internet sales of ammo in CA.
They’ll never crack down on evil people because they’re useful pawns in their plan to regulate every aspect of life. Homicidal maniacs are useful for regulating guns.
In a perfect world, the media wouldn’t be allowed to turn shootings into a national spectacle, thus robbing the maniacs of much of their incentive to commit atrocities.

I managed to be at Walmart one day during the Christmas break where they had some ammo I could use. Most of the time their shelves are pretty bare.
We just tell them no anyway - they never look - it would be too much work for them.
