What drama: Bachmann, Garrett, Blackburn wait till LAST MIN to cast vote for Boehner, bring the vote from 17 defections down at final second— Robert Costa (@robertcostaNRO) January 3, 2013
I guess Bachmann is a RINO now..
We’re screwed every which way from Sunday!
I really hate the Republican Loser Party
This country is going to collapse and the GOPe is going to do nothing to even try and slow it down
Pathetic. I expected better from Bachmann especially.
The Republican Party no longer needs my vote, evidently, so it no longer has to have it.
I wonder what he offered her?
I guess Bachmann is a RINO now..
K Street working girl. Cashing her chips in like every last one of them.
The only things that stands between freedom and a new gun ban are the House Republicans; heaven help us.
It is truly time to think about forming a new party and dismantling the corrupt Grand Old Party.
I was being sarcastic..
It was painful to watch... even comical at times.
Reelect the weakest, lamest duck. Sheeeesh.
No surprise.
They are Pubbies. They fold. That is what they do. It is their nature.
But hey, Boehner has promised to get tough with Obama, no more one-on-one meetings. Tough talk. Tough talk with no backbone.
==
Of course, now the 14 or so who showed some backbone will have 2 years of reprisals from the GOPe leadership. They will lose any status and positions they held.
Go ahead and start one..
I think it was to prevent Pelosi from becoming Speaker again!
Bachman has betrayed the Tea Party. Like Fredo, she is dead to me.
Might as well have Pelosi, it’s the same result in the end.
she lost votes too.
Recount!
Seriously, did anyone think the outcome would be any different?
No matter the party, they all play Lucy to conservatives trying to kick the football down the field.
We are betrayed constantly.
It is time let the GOP Whig out, and have our own party, our own convention, our own candidates.
The proverbial handwriting has been on the wall for a long time.
Next cave: gun control, marriage and the debt ceiling. The Dems must be ecstatic.
Yup, we have three more Republicans now to put on our unacceptable list? Do we have any Republicans left who are acceptable?
Yes, along with everyone else that voted for Boner. I am finished the Republican Party. He is a cry baby, sorry excuse for a man, that lacks the spine to stand on conservative principles.
Bachmann’s always been Little Ms. Personal Ambition. She and Rove go way back.
I wonder what he offered her?
The deal Boehner & McConnell gave them seems to be that they will use the kenyan as cover to open the spending spigots. The lobbyist payola will flow generously to those who play ball.
Then get off your butt and form a new party, but I think you like complain from the keyboard all of the time instead of working..
The Democrats must be happy.
General statement pointed to those who know its about them.
I recently accepted the fact that nothing The GOP do will stop a significant percentage of conservatives from voting for them and calling it a good thing.
Nothing.
Every week brings a new affront to common sense and decency and every week, vocal supporters ride to defend it. In the MSM (interviews and such) and online.
Every cave in brings all new creative excuses. And when they cannot excuse the inexcusable, they fall back on the old timeworn saw, We have nowhere else to go.
Fine. Go there and sit silent while your country collapses with your help. Because when your country needed you in whatever small way to stand up for what was right, you chose what was popular.
Live with it. Because the rest of us are forced to.
None I can think of.
That’s not what would have happened—she would not have got a majority of votes cast and there would have had to be another vote. (Unless some Dems bailed out Boehner, which is likely.)
You got that right...let us now throw Bachmann under the bus as a RINO.
Time to ask Doug Hoffman from NY-23 to form a new party!
The circular firing squad is in full force. Let the democraps have it all.
I am not surprised.
Others and present = 15.
They already do. As we see with all the support for failed republicans/GOP on this very thread
The new Gun Laws will be just the begining. I expect Boehner to give Obama ever penny of Pork laden spending for Hurrican Sandy “Relief”. Immigration will be another big loss for the GOP.....Because they want the hispanic vote.
Wow. Is there anybody here is who NOT a whiner today?
Time to switch registration to ‘Independent’...I’ll be voting for Constitution Party candidates from here on...I’ve read their platform, and it is as close to conservative as anything out there.
She always was. She, merely, used conservatives as her stepping stool. The big mouth is a deceiver. Didn’t you notice that in the primary when she lashed out at Perry and lied and didn’t touch the liberal Romney/the GOP choice? She was his loud mouth guard post. But don’t let on, she will be back to conservatives with her fork tongue when they need some buttering up to settle down and behave.
And your solution, oh great one, is exactly what?
More of the same?
Got a better idea, let’s hear it.
“FAIL”-Scott Garrett has just seen his last dime from this supporter. His Chair is clearly more important to him than his constituency. Doesn’t take long for DC to pollute even the most resolute conservatives. What a cesspool full of turds.
Bachman has betrayed the Tea Party. Like Fredo, she is dead to me.
Oh Lord. Get a grip. She is one of the best in Congress. We need her and just because she voted for Boehner does not make her a traitor. Big woop. Nobody would have fought the tax increase. Hell even Paul Ryan voted for the mess. No wonder we are losing everything. You are a “zero tolerance” type....Mr. or Ms. Goodie Goodie who has to have their own way. Well grow up and start supporting conservatives like the GREAT Michele Bachmann who I hope and pray will be our President someday!!!!
I don’t think anyone else really wants the title right now.
Republicans are de facto leaderless.
The Speaker is walking in now and looks like he is about to cry. Lord, help us.
Even Rush realizes it now we (conservatives) are strangers in our own land.. Soon the majority will celebrate when the Government puts a bounty on our heads....
In which century do you expect the constitution party to win the WH, or Senate or the House? Or is it that winning is not one of your requirements?
If they ever want to get any legislation they sponsor to be voted on, they needed to vote for him.
Waiting Until the Last Minute is code............
If it looked like there was going to be close to enough support to put someone else in, i.e., a last minute surprise, they held out so they could make the difference.
This is making it clear that they support Boehner only because they have to; if any bona fide conservative had went for it, they would have supported them.
IMHO, the Repub party will be replaced and conservatives are going to jump ship.
We draw ever closer to the time when Congress will be financially forced into scaling back our military and all other spending starts getting all jammed up in shortfalls of cash.
The idea of hocking Treasuries to banks via the primary dealers is soon going to start making Treasuries seem like Greek bonds.
There are many conservative parties out there that individually don’t amount to much. But, IMHO, there will be a mass exodus from the Republican party upon a triggering event and many R’s will become C’s, temporarily creating a three party system. IMHO, the R party can’t survive that, will become impotent and fade away.
The R party will not win any more political battles, IMHO. They are not really centrist or liberal, and not really conservative.
The D party is simply a coalition of scams, but the R party centrists cave in too much to be able to form a reliable coalition with C’s - the C’s have no real reason any more to support R’s.
IMHO.
OK! So you are in the know. You need to use a sarcasm tag because there are too many here blinded by her ‘rhetoric’.
It is, indeed. If we wait too long, there won’t be time to build momentum before the next round. And I don’t want to hear about “guaranteeing the Dems will win”. How’d that work out for us last time?
There were five maybe six House seats (several in new districts in Arizona) which went to Democrats because third party candidates took away what should have been winning Republican margins. Redistricting in states, often by Democratic legislative majorities, or ordered by liberal judges, commonly gives Democrats an upfront advantage. When these races are close and a third party takes from Republican votes, the Rats most always prevail.
John Boehner 220
Nancy Pelosi 192
Eric Cantor 3
Jim Cooper 2
Allen West 2
Colin Powell 1
Jim Jordan 1
David Walker 1
Justin Amash 1
John Dingell 1
Raul Labrador 1
John Lewis 1
Maybe if the Republicans were worthy, there wouldn't be the need for third parties.
Talk about cry babies.
“She is one of the best in Congress. “
If that’s he case based solely on her actions here and in the primaries, then you have a pretty loose definition of ‘best.’
Because those actions are demonstratively destructive to conservatism.
She hired a megaRINO to ‘run’ her campaign and tank it.
She did nothing to blunt Romney’s BS against conservative values/candidates. Those are not the actions of a conservative. They are what a GOP ringer would do.
Disagree? Explain why. Actually don’t bother. You won’t convince me or anyone else willing to objectively judge someone by their actions.
