Public records. Hmmmm. Like divorce, DUIs and any other arrests? Could get interesting.
To: Libloather
I'm sure burglars read these reports with great interest.

Well, clearly the publisher and reporters don't get it yet. They need a little more educating by local activists until they change their ways or get put out of business. This is war like everything now between liberals and Americans.

And I can assume this paper will also publish those who practiced freedom of speech and freedom of religion next?

a question that needs to be asked of city officials would be “how do I make my records private?”
Don’t get me wrong. this stuff has to stop. But I think pressuring the government who is turning this info over is where the fix will be.
It is the main reason I do not purchase fire arms that need permits or reporting.

I wouldn’t be surprised if someone took it upon themselves to start retaliating in a more physical and less virtual way.

When I grew up in Rockland, the Journal-News was a liberal-leaning but halfway decent paper. This rag went down the crapper ever since Gannet took them over. Does this constitute invasion of privacy? Reckless endangerment? Could the Landmark Legal Foundation or the ACLJ help out?

It’s called Playing with the Tiger’s Tail.
They are so absorbed in their self-righteous indignance of someone else owning a gun, that they don’t even realize there could be a real nutjob out there that won’t stop with finding out email addresses, phone numbers, even home addresses.
It just isn’t something a sane person, moreso a parent, would do unless they were consumed with hate and self-righteousness of the left, oblivious to common sense.

With the data warehousing and data mining capabilities of Google, Facebook and the NSA, just think of the lists and keyword associations that are possible for...OFA subscribers, DNC email lists, or...each of our health records.

They can’t even tell the truth in their own headlines. The article doesn’t tell you a damned thing about the weapons, it just tells you who has a permit.

I’m glad they’re doing this. I know gun owners that vote Democrat. They don’t fear registration, as they are CONVINCED that government will NEVER take their guns.
Crap like this needs to publicized, BIG TIME. This is just one step short of taking away weapons - people need to know what happens when databases are compiled.

Let's start aggressively and loudly lobbying that permits be required to exercise First Amendment rights, with the same requirements as that state demands for firearm ownership and carry.
In New Jersey you'd have to "prove a need" to speak or worship freely...

This may sound sick, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this newspaper staff are purposely provoking some sort of physical incident, just to say, “See? They are all nuts!! Now can we ban gun ownership?”.
To: Libloather
I am trying to figure out what the big deal is?
I have a sign as you approach my front and back door that reads:
"The owner of this property is armed. There is nothing inside worth risking your life for."
All my neighbors like the sign and I have no solicitors.
