Cattelan caused controversy in Warsaw in 2000 when another gallery showed his work 'La Nona Ora' - 'The Ninth Hour' - which depicts Pope John Paul II being crushed by a meteorite.

I get the idea that this artist blames Christianity for all of the bad things in the world.

“Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”
We are on the edge of repeating history. What will we do?

Funny. It’s always “art” when it desecrates something decent.

such a great “artiste” /sarc

None of the so-called “artists” today can create beauty, just travesty

Why should an EU country not honor the intellectual and spiritual father of the EU?

Yeah, v 1.0 had a few flaws - it was practically in beta, for heaven’s sake. But THIS time, I’m sure it will work out...

I think Senator Dianne Feinstein should go to Poland to explain her views on people owning semiautomatic rifles with large capacity magazines.

The following statement does not necessarily represent normal people, but may be familiar to those; afflicted, as I am, with a predisposition towards the visual arts.

In the pursuit of expression, a kind of desperation for relevance and purpose, can take hold of an artist which is so great that the artist will imagine a controversy destine to make him/her the center of attention. It is unfortunate that this has become typical rather than rare and seems a particular condition of illiberalism, expressly pronounced in progressives. In the art world, such a piece as “Hitler praying” will be considered transgressive. In common parlance it is merely an intellectual affluent of postmodern sewage, which in fact needs no visual and adds nothing to culture. Artists’ will often call these pieces, (cough)... challenging or prophetic visions.

P.s. Hey, also, were do I adopt one of those Kitties as seen on the thread:

I need a drinking buddy.

The “artist’s” aim is to provoke Pavlov’s Dog’s reactions which as we can see he’s achieved here and elsewhere. From there comes notoriety and mucho moolah!

An “artist.” That explains a lot. I’m an artist, and I tell my girls, “Don’t marry an artist. They’re all nuts.”
