Police in Alexandria, Va., said Sunday that the Idaho Republican was pulled over after his vehicle ran a red light. Police spokesman Jody Donaldson said Crapo failed field sobriety tests and was arrested at about 12:45 a.m. He was transported to the Alexandria jail and released on an unsecured $1,000 bond at about 5 a.m....
Police said Crapo, who was alone in his vehicle, registered a blood alcohol content of .110. The legal limit in Virginia, which has strict drunken driving laws, is .08.

The Crapo is in the toilet now.
Meanwhile, Crapo will be hounded for months or years over this incident.

I don’t get it. I never will. Don’t these guys have aides who chauffer the around town?
Ain’t it true, he’s an absolute fool to be caught DUI.
That reminds me. I should go make some toast....
Yes he will be. And you’ll be hounded for triple posting:)
Wasn’t some Kennedy clan driving drunk but escorted by DC Capitol police to ‘safety’, and whole thing hushed hushed.
The guy disappeared for a couple week, and everything peachy?
He’ll wind up resigning, whereas any democrat will be allowed to stay and enhance his resume.
” a blood alcohol content of .110. The legal limit in Virginia, which has strict drunken driving laws, is .08.”
,08 is the limit. He was .11, .03 over the limit. Why the extra “0?” .110? Why not make it look even worse, and print “a blood alcohol limit of .1100000?”
It could be said that, Crapo is circling the bowl.
He should have said he was driving to a vote, like patches kennedy.
At .110 BAC he’s a piker compared to Chappaquiddick Ted who went through his entire adult life above .300 BAC
“Police: Sen. Crapo registered blood alcohol content of .110”
If he were a Democrat the DNC would run him for President.
Just read this.
First lesson Crapo blew. When they take your mug shot, smile like it’s your Christmas picture, like “the hammer” did (Tom *** can’t remember his last name right now, he was from Texas).
That way, the other side can’t use it.
HHC’s husband
That was Patrick Kennedy. He crashed into a Jersey wall in DC at 2 AM, and told police that he was on his way to the Capitol for an important vote. He was not charged, no blood test, and was driven home by the police. At least there wasn’t a dead blonde in his car. Also, remember the reporter who ambushed George Bush about a 25 year old DUI 4 days before the election?
Precisely.
Crapo had told The Associated Press in past interviews that he abstains from drinking alcohol.
Crapo, who was elected in 1998 and is in his third Senate term, is expected to take over the top Republican spot next year on the Senate Banking Committee. He also serves on the Senate’s budget and finance panels and has been active on environmental and health issues.

I know this won’t come off sounding quite right....but what an easy thing to ‘create.’
I mean with the way the world is today about so many things that are ‘bad’ for you from smoking to yes...even drinking and driving.
What is to stop a unionized government employee from faking the results of the field sobriety test? Democrats know that conservatives can’t stand having these kinds of irresponsible “drunks, womanizers, etc.” within the ranks. Republicans must be held as ‘holier than thou’ types, right?
He held himself up as a “holier than thou” type.
That’s the problem.
HHC’s husband
“a blood alcohol limit of .1100000?”
I meant to say;
“print that he had a blood level CONTENT of .1100000.”
Need coffee!
I know Kennedy was a drunk and was people covered for him for years, but Kennedy's piss poor behavior is not an excuse for another senator to act like an ass.
My wife and kids drive. If you're drunk, don't drive and put my family at risk.

Shocking I tell you! Just Shocking!
I quit drinking and solved the problem for good.
Poor dude couldn’t stop for a cup of coffee; against the WOW.
Don’t worry. Most people don’t understand decimals. They don’t know if there is a difference between .11 and .110 or .1100.
I’ve seen people in graduate school who can’t tell you which is larger, .170 or .71. Many of them explain their answers this way: “Everything works backwards to the right of the decimal.”
I am going to give him a small credit for two things:
One, he did not refuse the sobriety tests
Two, he didn’t claim that he could not be arrested because he was on his was to Congress.
Wasn’t that the Larry Craig seat? Do devils lurk there or what?
How do you fail a field sobriety test at .110? They must have told him to recite the Greek alphabet backward.
He's still burning off the alchohol in hell.
.11 is pretty lame - a democRAT could do much better.
GREAT flowchart!!! Merry, Happy to you and yours.
I think the Devil made sure Ted Kennedy got down there because they figured he could extend the thermal energy resources of Hell in four ways:
1.) Hot gas from the mouth
2.) Methane from the rear
3.) Alcohol in the blood
4.) Blubber for rendering
They make you take a breath test during the field tests these days. So you can do okay on the physical tests and fail the breath test.
Thanks, NonValueAdded...and best to you and yours! (Flowchart is so true, isn’t it?)
Burning it off, hell. Satan's using Ted as a fuel source.
Damn. You beat me to it :)
A device that reads .11 is precise to the hundredths place. A device that reads .110 is precise to the thousandths place. So a device that reads .110 is, in theory, a better device than one that reads just .11.
I know he is a conservative, but I have never heard of one thing with which he has been associated. Now I have: DUI. This may mean that ID will punish innocent Repubicans and turn that seat Democrat. For years, Frank Church was their senator. And ID is surrounded by Democrat senators, excpet for WY and UT.
You are so right; if there is anything that the American people know less about that politics, it’s decimals AND fractions! Most could never do eighth grade math; even Obama confesses to that failure.
Teddy’s free pass expired.I wonder what he’s doing now....
“So a device that reads .110 is, in theory, a better device than one that reads just .11.”
True, however,,,,,, .11 and .110 are the same. But, to the math challenged brain, “Why! .110 is much worse than .08 or .11. He was really, really loaded!” I’m talking about appearances, not the accuracy of different devices. At the water plant, our sensors read the line pressure to 6 decimal places! Way overkill!
If the day ever comes we ever comes we are so uppity as to throw a good man under the bus for this kind of action then the good Lord help us. Taking all things into consideration, I say let him who is without traffic tickets throw the first stone. There is a big difference between what Crapo did and getting stone drunk and stealing a truck, for instance.
President Ulysses (or as our southern FRiends might say Useless) S. Grant was known for being a somewhat heavy drinker and got in trouble during his presidency for speeding his buggy through DC. It takes more than goody two shoes to win wars, the Republicans should keep that in mind.
Thats 3 glasses of egg nog, 3 beers or 3 shots of liquor.
Hardly loaded, but indeed Driving under the influence.
I know people who would blow this when they get out of bed in the morning.
“I know he is a conservative, but I have never heard of one thing with which he has been associated. Now I have: DUI. This may mean that ID will punish innocent Repubicans and turn that seat Democrat.”
I doubt Idaho will elect a Democrat, but this guy may want to resign rather than running again. He has time to see how the wind is blowing, since he’s not up for re-election until 2016.
However (and I’m very surprised no one has commented on this), he’s a Mormon and had previously said he doesn’t drink. No one likes hypocrisy or liars, and 25% of Idahoans are Mormon...
I think a lot hinges on how he conducts himself between now and re-election.
(On a different note, I recall the days when .15 was the legal limit and he wouldn’t even have been considered drunk...)
You know how it is around here...:)
