Gov. Christie and Michael Steele Join Mayor Bloomberg in Criticizing the NRA

After Wayne LaPierre spoke of the NRA's desire to help make children safer by using its own money and resources to train teachers and work with police departments to have an armed presence at every school that wants it, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former RNC chair Michael Steele joined Mayor Michael Bloomberg in crying foul.

Said Christie: "In general, I don't think the solution to safety in schools is putting an armed guard because for it to really be effective in my view, from a law enforcement perspective, you have to have an armed guard at every classroom."

This is absolute lunacy. And if we followed Christie's line of thinking for our homes, we'd have to conclude that having a gun at the ready by the bed at night is a waste of time unless we have a family member armed and on watch at every entrance to the house at all times as well.

You see how silly such thinking is?

She had good words. But it’s now obvious she believed none of it.

She's like a right wing Micheal Moore.
He cares so much for the poor, the needy, the oppressed. He makes movies about them, their oh so important concerns, and then sells them to the poor, the needy, and the oppressed at top dollar. He puts the millions he scams out of them into crude oil energy stocks, guards with deadly weapons, or gold for himself. Ching ching $$$$!

Christie gets “John McCain Syndrome” and finally runs off the rails.

This illustrates precisely why RINOs are totally useless when the rubber meets the road. Gutless fools all of them.

Christi and like many others are foremost just political hacks. They have no more commonsense as to problems of real life than thousands if not millions of ordinary persons who have to solve the nitty-gritty problems of what ever life demands of them. Having said this I believe that some well trained school staff, be them custodians or teachers, can be very usefull to take out an evil intentioned person. However, such a person is most probably an after the fact solution. What is needed is an indicator about such a person before they can close in on the people in the school. I doubt that visual recognition always will be able to close the necessary short time gap between recognition and getting the trained personnel into action. However, I do believe that a wall of sirens around the grounds together with all personnel of the school having remote controllers to push button the sirens on seeing any suspicious person or activity the mindset of a perpetrator would be upset and also all action persons would have an early notice that something needed immediate attention somewhere. I realize that false alarms could happen but with adequate training and discipline much of this could be alleviated. In these situations it is best to be ready than be sorry.

The republican party is standing on the brink. Unless Conservatives can wrest control from the rinos immediately the party is done and the Tea Party must go full ahead.

Did Sarah read the Tea Leaves?

there will be many other things for which we’ll be able to thank him in the next four years....sane people recognize the there is nothing ideal in politics and try not to throw the baby out with the bath water.

Perhaps I don't qualify as sane under your standards, but Christie has so many major faults, primarily the fact that he is another big government liberal in the mold of Romney, that the GOP will lose if they nominate him. "I'm not as bad as the other guy" didn't work with McCain in 2008 or with Romney in 2012, and it will not work in 2016. Ronald Reagan was not by my standards perfect; he just came close enough. Christie? Nowhere close.

Reagan is said to have stated, "The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally -- not a 20 percent traitor." Christie scores about 51%, at best, and not always on the critical issues, while Bill Clinton scored a 40% and Barack Obama scores a 0%. Perhaps that makes Christie a friend and an ally, but it does not make him an acceptable leader, at least not for the Republican party.

"Do any of you screeching lunatics have any better ideas ? We have armed security for ADULT football coaches, entertainers and politicians of all stripes. WHY?????????????? Why not for defenseless children?????????????????????"

Actually, yes. Allow CCW for teachers/staff/qualified volunteers. Add training if wanted by the CCW holder. Deputize (reserve deputy) the quality volunteers. Non-teachers serve as roaming guards, teachers as backup, second line in classrooms. Said classrooms to have low-tech bars on classroom doors. Be sure said doors (and viewing panes) are bulletproof. Likewise walls on each side of the doors (could be as simple as bookshelves/cabinets).

Christie is just another anti-gun idiot. And you're letting your emotions run away with you, falling completely for what the liberals want to happen.
