DEVELOPING: Jon Hammar, the U.S. Marine imprisoned in Mexico on a gun charge, will be released today, his mother told Fox News Radio.

Olivia Hammar said the judge hearing Hammar's case issued a ruling in his favor and that her son is to be released at a time on Friday yet to be announced. No more details were available. Hammar, 27, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, has been stuck in a notorious, drug cartel-controlled prison just 15 miles south of the U.S. border since Aug. 13, after he crossed into Mexico and declared an antique shotgun to Mexican customs officials.

I have still not seen Obama’s name associated with this case in any manner.

And you won’t until the Marine is successfully home. Then, POTUS will take full credit for it. Whether he was involved or not.

A: Don’t go to Mexico.

Evidently it took over four months for Mexican leadership to scrape together enough functioning brain cells to determine you don’t declare a weapon to authorities, if you have evil plans, or are doing anything other than what you think you are required to do by the letter of the law.

The Mexicans sell a lot of stuff up here--automobiles, alcoholic beverages, much of the produce available in supermarkets, etc. The threat of a boycott by angry Americans probably smartened them up fast.

Speaking of travel into Mexico, Simply carrying an old expended shell casing in your luggage or automobile glove compartment will put you into a miserable prison.

I’m not convinced that der Fuehrer had much to do with this. I think the driving force was the group of congressmen who were pushing a campaign to kill off the flow of American tourists to the third world craphole called mexico.

This may have had something to do with it: Mexico threatened with travel boycott until veteran freed

Most of the tomatoes you find in supermarkets are grown in Mexico. A boycott of Mexican agricultural products would also hit them hard.

Must have been Whoraldo’s passionate plea this morning on Fox News that made it happen.

Rest assured that Obummer will take credit for the release of Hammar should it really happen.

It seems to have taken a Mexican judge, rather then an impotent State Department.

Of course, the SD couldn’t do anything, as their leader was home sick in bed with a concussion and a bad cold.

If this is F&F related, that’s worse than just general principles IMO.

F&F was despicable. Make a formal complaint and press it at the appropriate venue. Don’t screw over one individual whose plight won’t be known by 85% of our populace.

Perhaps you’re right about the boycotting. I hadn’t heard of a big plan, but Mexico may have feared that eventuality.

Perhaps so. Whatever the case, I’m glad a judge took the right action.

This is all about screwing America and Americans for everything they can.

They dump their welfare, taxpayer sucking sows onto our society, their criminals to overload our prisons and their sexual predators to destroy our women and children.

They thumb their noses at our laws and gleefully jail and torture any jaywalker in their filthy country.

God Bless John Hammar. And thank God for this Christmas present to have him back on American soil and back with his family.

Big ears will probably take credit, but this is Marines helping Marines and Americans standing behind this veteran Jon Hammar.

('Semper Fi' to Representative Duncan Hunter for fighting for Jon Hammar's release.)

Rep. "Hunter calls for Americans to boycott Mexico"

"Rep. Duncan Hunter, a California Republican and Marine combat veteran, called on Americans Thursday to boycott Mexico until that nation releases Jon Hammar, a former U.S. marine, from prison.

Mr. Hunter also said he is prepared to go to Mexico personally to demand Mr. Hammar's release.

Mexican authorities are holding Mr. Hammer on weapons charges after he carried his grandfather's antique shotgun across the border into Mexico in August.

Photos from Matamoros state prison show Mr. Hammar shackled to his bed.

"Getting this Marine out of prison and home to his family must be a priority," Mr. Hunter said. "Marines don't leave each other behind, and I'm willing to do whatever I can to see that he comes home safely."

He also said he wanted to see the U.S. State Department take a more active role in trying to win the man's release."

Rep. “Hunter calls for Americans to boycott Mexico”

What about the rest of the Americans who are in prison? An American boycott on Mexican products may cause a mass release of thos injustly placed in Mexican prisons.
