Life is tough. It is tougher when you are stupid.
No bills will, nor could they have, stopped the massacre that occurred in Newtown. We already have laws on the books against murder, assault, and Connecticut has some of the toughest gun laws in the country. Guess what. They did nothing to stop an evil person that wanted nothing more then to destroy lives. All laws serve only one purpose. That is to give a recourse to citzen AFTER a crime has occurred. We have laws against murder assault rape robbery burglary, drunk driving, illegal drugs and more weapons laws then you can shake a stick at. We still have murders assaults rapes robberies burglaries drunk drivers drug addicts and crimes committed with a weapon.
Hand-wringing *ssclowns haven’t yet quite managed to grasp the utterly obvious; i.e., that by their very definition, firearms laws are NOT observed by lawbreakers.
It is NOT the laws, but the disintegration of the moral fiber of a nation, that prevents this sort of disaster.
Fix the society, and stop worrying about violent crime.
