Sandy Hook and the Absence of God

“We must reject the idea that every time a law’s broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It’s time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.” — Ronald Reagan

Of course, any number of people have done their utmost to politicize what’s happened. In the wake of any crisis, there are the unscrupulous few that are going to look for an opportunity here and there.

Before we wander too far off track, it’s important to know that government is neither a force for good nor evil. Rather, it is a force that when applied justly and in a balanced fashion, protects our liberties and prevents our laws from wandering into license or locking us into tyrannical despotism — concepts our Founding Fathers understood well.

[Ultimately, the] solution for the problems of this world will never be the presence of more laws, but rather the solution God proscribed: the presence of Christ.

KEYWORDS: accountability; crime; freedom
The political issue: As I have previously posted, the MO of the Leftists is that tragedies should never go wasted and unused. The Demagoguery Party (AKA the DEMOgoguebureauCRAT Party, AKA the Democratic Party) will use any excuse for more government and more regulations.

The spiritual issue: America needs to turn back to her Fountain of Living Waters, our true Founder and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. There is a great shaking going on - we have put our trust in the creation and not the Creator. And it is creation (either man or man's government) that murders, kills, steals, and destroys. [N]ow he has promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifying the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are [man]made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Hebrews 12:26-27.

I read the eulogy given by one of the victims mother today. A 6 year old boy. I have 3 boys - 8, 6, and 16 months. Cried most of he morning thinking about.

One conclusion I came to: I just can’t believe a loving god would allow the slaughter of theses innocents. And if he does exist, I’m just not interested.

Your loss. Enjoy yourself.

People look for a solution to society’s ills that does not require people to be good. They are looking for a structure that will work regardless of its content. They keep building structures upon structures until they imprison themselves in a jail of their own making.

Human laws must rest upon a deeper moral and spiritual foundation, and must be in harmony with those, or the laws become chains.

Moral people don’t require a lot of laws. There is a need for the kinds of laws that referee the inevitable clashes that occur even between people who mean well. And there are the laws required to restrain the people who are not capable of ruling themselves. In the end, the key to a free society is a critical mass of people who are capable of governing themselves, and willing to govern themselves. And that is a moral quality. It requires a people who see themselves as ultimately answering to God.

When people lose their reverence for God they lose their freedom too. It is something acted out again and again in the Old Testament, that men who forget God wind up in chains, and the only way back to freedom is to look up. Your choice is a human king or a heavenly one. Most people in modern politics are looking for human kings who in the end will be their jailers.

But the One you're angry at died for each and every one of those children as a well as the perp. He was wholly innocent when He was murdered - more pure than even those children.

He's not in the business of interfering with man's freedom to choose. And when He's kicked out, like He has been in public school, He doesn't force his way back in. That's not real love. But, He IS in the business of redeeming the whole world by paying the FULL PRICE for ALL the sins of the WHOLE WORLD, past, present, and future. This is a love that is greater than anything we've ever known.

Those innocent children are in His presence right now, like the 60 million plus aborted babies - the victims of American infanticide that so many conveniently forget about. Jesus loves and has redeemed the little children in the midst of wickedness and evil and He loves you and I the same way.

Its so easy to love your “good child”. its easy to love God when all is well. its called faith. You will be tested. Read Job. This man was so tested. He never waivered.

Several Holocaust survivors I know well would agree with your first statement. But they are still intensely interested, as I suspect you are. If you weren't, you'd just invent some rationalizations and keep on rose-colored glasses.

Please stay honest. If God exists, he gave you a brain and a heart. Continue to use them.
