Excellent reasoning. If the right people were armed at the school on Friday and/or if the school had security officers who could use a gun in the school they could have shot him before he killed a single person.

If we cant trust school employees with a gun, why the hell are we trusting them with our children and grand children?

Good idea. We will never in our lifetimes get rid of firearms - no matter what the gun-grabbing hand wringers may wish. Firearms in America are a fact of life, period. We cannot reasonable turn our schools into bunkers.
Given these two facts, the uncomfortable truth is that attacks by armed lunatics (insane and/or evil) are going to be a possibility. We must face this fact. The only way to reduce the risk and mitigate the danger is to have the means available to end such an attack as quickly as possible. That means armed and trained personnel on-hand at the schools. Maybe that means armed security guards. Maybe that means arming or allowing the staff to be armed. I would recommend some specific training and periodic qualification.
