I watched the Cowboys-Steelers game. They showed the player, who DUI, killed his team mate last week. The player was on the sidline with the team...”out of jail.” The talking heads agreed that they thought it was inappropriate and “sending the wrong signal” having that jerk on the sideline during the game. I agree.
The Democrats believe that their best ‘weapon’ against the 2nd Amendment will be new and very high taxes at the Fed, State, and local level on firearms and firearm ammunition.
Chicago’s Cook County drops bullet tax, keeps gun levy
By Mary Wisniewski | Reuters Wed, Oct 31, 2012
CHICAGO (Reuters) - The senior executive of the county that includes Chicago dropped a proposed tax on bullets on Wednesday but kept a plan to tax firearms to help defray healthcare expenses associated with the high rate of gun.
“It is very important to us to tax guns because we know that guns are the sources of the incredible violence we have in our neighborhoods,”
Under the plan, the county would impose a $25 tax on the purchase of firearms.
If approved by the board, the nation’s third most populous county with nearly 5.2 million residents could be the first major U.S. metropolitan area to impose a tax as a form of gun control, according to the Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence.
“The notion of taxing ammunition may be traced to comedian Chris Rock, who once quipped, “If a bullet costs $5,000, there’d be no more innocent bystanders.” Before that, the legendary New York Democratic Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan suggested a 10,000 percent tax on the most destructive bullets. Make them too expensive, he theorized, and they would disappear.”
If Guns Do Not Kill, Tax the Bullets

The Economist - 1994
“The idea of a license for gun owners has been floated by Mr Clinton and by Janet Reno, the attorney-general; it is argued most strongly by Charles Schumer, a Democratic congressman from Brooklyn. Under Mr Schumer’s bill, which is now before Congress, every owner would have a national handgun card, issued after a thorough background check, and all gun transfers would be registered with the ATF.”
Just a side note - anything that is “HDPE” is the same material as the “legal” gas/diesel jugs you can buy at Walmart.
That means those blue barrels with air-tight bungs will work just as well as (better than) a red, leaky, now hard to use modern “gas can”.
Aren't those part of the device that Timmy used in OKC?
So I use a funnel and no spout, like my great-grandfather did. I suppose if certain people saw me defeating the "safety" feature I could be in for a hassle...or worse. It's nice, all this "progress" we are having.
Thanks - I never thought of that.
The new gas can I bought requires three hands to operate.
Why the Largest Maker of Portable Gas Cans is Going Out of Business (Short answer? - Stupid people and the lawyers that represent them.)
Ummm... How does one subtract one date ending in "2" from another date ending in "2" -- and come up with a difference ending in "5"?
And her son was never taught that theft is wrong (he stole her guns) or that murder is evil.
I see the ‘rats making a 2-fer based on emotions: further advancing more socialized medicine under the guise of ‘free’ ‘mental healthcare’ for all AND more restrictions on the 2nd Amendment.
good to see policy based on a Chris Rock skit.
what geniuses.
If you’re talking about the movie “Jack Reacher” know that the character in the books is 6’5” and weighs in at 240 or so. He is also NOT violent by nature rather a Paladin type character. Why TC has been cast is a wonderment. I’ll not watch the movie as Reacher exists in the theater of my mind.
Cause he’s too busy being on TV calling for “gun control”...
Would taking guns away from law abiding citizens, prevent a rage & hate driven sociopath from obtaining a gun--or, if unable to obtain a gun--hurling a Molotov Cocktail into a classroom? (A well armed teacher might, but not an Unconstitutional Federal Law.)
The reality is that we have been Losing America's Multi-Generational Purpose. and with it the foundations for constructive--as opposed to destructive--behavior.

Yep, its coming apart allright and now the RIC, (Racist in Charge) is inent on disarming the productive, non-Amish, portion of the population so they’ll be at the mercy of his feral Urban population.
Would banning guns stop 3,500 murders of unborn babies per day in the United States?
Agreed. As I’ve been saying too, the left has removed masculine role models from the schools and daycare. Add to that absence of fathers in the home. There are NO father figures whatsoever for boys today. Discipline of the kind only men can bring is desperately needed. Boys need to have the fear of God and fear of adult authority put in them at an EARLY age or all is lost. Great reference and I might just read that book.. The title alone nails it.
It's Modern Math.
Yep. The last 30-50 years are the culmination of the anti-father feminazi legislation in “family” court. Dirty little secret is that dad didn’t WALK away, he was PUSHED away due to the courts winking at Mom’s trashing dad’s character. Dad ends up spending tens of thousands of dollars to try and protect his parental rights which is truly swimming upstream. Turn on the TV and you’ll see a host of commercials where mom and the kids are smarter than dad. Now add to this:
1. the lack of fresh air, exercise and sunshine
2. the lack of work/chores for children (they need this to feel a real part/asset to the family; gov’t says it’s “abuse”)
3. the lack of discipline (once again, gov’t equate all correction with “abuse” except in minority communities where they look the other way)
4. crappy junk food/chemical diet
5. diagnosing every childhood trait as a “disorder” and overprescribing meds for such.
6. allowing children to call the shots in the home (especially when mom and dad don’t live under the same roof)
7. “pansifying” the children by not allowing competition and natural conflict resolution (anti-bullying, goth, EMO groups, etc,)
8. gov’t agencies set up to impoverish dad through massive CS orders secretly profiting from Title IV-D kickbacks, yet conspiring with mom and prosecuting dad for “abuse” when he tries to set healthy boundaries with Junior.
And you’ve got a ticking tine bomb.
Yep, we should ban blue barrels, obviously.
