The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) announced its opposition to the potential appointment of former Senator Chuck Hagel (R-NE) as Secretary of Defense, citing a long list of actions Hagel has taken that raise alarms about his failure to support Israel.
Hagel is said to be the leading contender to replace Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, who is expected to step down early next year.
The RJC outlined a number of instances highlighting Hagels anti-Israel record: In August 2006, Hagel was one of only 12 Senators who refused to write the EU asking them to declare Hizbullah a terrorist organization; In October 2000, Hagel was one of only 4 Senators who refused to sign a Senate letter in support of Israel; November 2001, Hagel was one of only 11 Senators who refused to sign a letter urging President Bush to continue his policy of not meeting with Yasser Arafat until he took steps to end the violence against Israel; In December 2005, Hagel was one of only 27 Senators who refused to sign a letter to President Bush to pressure the Palestinian Authority to ban terrorist groups from participating in Palestinian legislative elections; June 2004, Hagel refused to sign a letter urging President Bush to emphasize Irans nuclear program at the G-8 summit.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Absolutely
0 has been bare-knuckling Israel since the day he stepped into office. Why would anyone expect that to change?
Why would a former buck sergeant in US Army, who as US senator never held any committee position that qualifies him to be Sec of Defense..........be considered for Sec of Defense. Might well make Joe the Cab Driver Sec of Defense.
Now for the reason this unqualified RINO is being considered by the equally unqualified Obamagabe for security of a department he is not qualified to hold. The communist was not qualified to be president when he ran and won the presidency. Qualifications mean nothing to the communist. Taking orders is the only requirement. Hagel was also more democrat than republican his last few years in Washington, and criticized GW Bush’s handling on the Iraq War. Obamagabe criticized Bush, Hagel did also, therefore he’ll be the next Sec of Defense. And republicans knowing this character is not qualified will not mean squat. They will roll over and play dead for the communist in any damn thing he wants to do.
I guarantee that the same PhonyCon RINOs (McCain, Grahamnesty) will help Hagel’s nomination thru...even though Hagel is an Anti-Semite
