A proposal by gun store owners to open an indoor gun range in a residential neighborhood in Berlin has homeowners concerned saying it is close to their families.

The Berlin Planning and Zoning Commission at 7 p.m. inside the council chambers at Town Hall. The meeting is open to the public.

According to the town of Berlin's website, the proposal is to add an indoor gun range to the west side of the Berlin Turnpike in connection with an existing gun shop, BMG Guns & Ammo. The gun shop currently doesn't have gun range for people to practice, which is why they want to add one.

Neighbors are concerned about the proposal.

"I have two small girls and my house is pretty much in the backyard and I'm just concerned if anything can potentially go wrong in the parking lot, a gun going off that could harm them," said Jennifer Moore of Berlin.

Moore said her neighborhood is not the right location for the facility and feels it should be in less residential area with less families, homes and children.

These morons really believe that an INDOOR gun range at a existing firearms dealer will somehow cause parking lot shootings.

This would be about the stupidest place in the entire neighborhood for someone to stage a mad shooting. It’s the same reason that there has never been an armed robbery of a firing range.

I know when I’m shooting at my local indoor range, sometimes I just get so carried away that I get the urge to leave the line and run outside to shoot at random homes.

Theres an indoor range already essentially across the street at Hoffmans Gun Shop. It’s been there about 3-4 years.

There's more of a chance that an asphalt truck crashes through the back of your house while the parking lot is being paved sweetie, than anything happening with a firearm traveling to and from an indoor range.

A 20 year old chippie I worked with years ago was so antigun that she didn’t even want to be in the same house with one. I asked her, “What do you think will happen with that gun in your boyfriend’s nightstand? Is it just going to spontaneously go off by itself?” She never did answer me.

I read a Dear Abby (0r her sister’s column) last year or so and a gentleman wrote in that his brother, sister-in-law and a couple of kids were coming to stay and a week before, the SIL calls and says he needs to get all of his guns (which were all in a gunsafe) out of the house before they got there or they weren’t coming. I think DA’s response was to give the directions to the nearest hotel but not remove the guns as they were already safely locked up.

It is just sad that the dem machine, the antigun crowd, are getting the job done.

This sounds to me like a chance to speak out IN FAVOR OF the gun range proposal.

This woman is concerned about the safety of her kids. Whatever that may mean to us, or her. But I do have to point out,

She lives in one of the WORST TOWNS in the New England. That place is a total pit. The Berlin Turnpike is a hot bed of human trafficking, and the drug and violence problem throughout that place is breathtaking.
