If one chooses to shoplift, burgle, or steal one must know there is an inherent hazard of that chosen vocation which includes getting shot...even unto death. We have property rights in this country, at least for now. If you have been a target of serial burglery or theft you realize the police mostly do nothing in recovery of your possessions and it is largely up to you to protect your property.

It is a sad statement that this person, Frey, chose to steal, repeatedly, and that society and common culture has inferred to her that there is ambiguity in whether it is wrong, against-the-law, inherently dangerous to engage in that activity. It should have been so clear to her that she would dare not do such a thing. But, she did, and now many peoples lives, not the least of which her 2 children, will forever be without her. Her choice. Her choices consequences.

You clearly are a person who does not understand the concept of degree. If you believe shoplifting is a crime whose consequence should be death your views are no different than fundamental Muslim law.

Upon second thought, their belief system is closer to the founding fathers than yours.

Exactly right. She knew her actions were illegal. There are tons of jobs in Houston now, many are low paying and menial. But it is HONEST work. It does take personal responsibilty to be at work, per your assigned schedule, do a good job, EARN a paycheck and go home to your family at the end of the day.

WAY too many people, of all colors, race and creeds, think it is totally acceptable to AVOID personal responsibility for their actions. And here, in Texas, you can very well end up dead because of your poor choices.

My wife and I daily risk our lives to get to work, earn a paycheck and enjoy the life we have and anyone who thinks they are “entitled” to steal what I have risked my life to provide are likely to sacrifice their own trying to take mine.
