Pound ‘em Barry! They made your union knuckledraggers cry. Oops! It was the tear gas that made them cry.

I haven’t figured out what’s going on here but there’s more than meets the eye. I noticed immediately after the election there was some prodding for the democrats to fight among themselves.

The day after the election Obama’s de facto DREAM act kids protested the fact that they can’t get diver’s licenses. Our secretary of state told them to take it up with Obama because he put them in their limbo and it wasn’t her job to fix it.

"If you write, direct, edit, shoot, or do sound for me on my next movie, you will not work for me unless you belong to the union," [Michael] Moore insisted on Friday.

Since only lefties would want to work on Moore's notorious movies anyway, that shouldn't be too much of a problem!

I don’t know whether it was Moore’s last movie or not, but he paid people minimum wage and didn’t pay health benefits. People worked part-time.

“One day during production on the first season of the show, Moore called two of his writers into his office. It was, for both of them, their first job in television, and they had been hired with the title of associate producer. They were not members of the Writers’ Guild, the powerful union for writers in movies and TV, and thus were not receiving health benefits, and would not qualify later for a percentage of video and rerun sales. “Michael said, ‘I’m getting a lot of heat from the union to call you guys writers and pay you under the union rules,’ ” Eric Zicklin, one of the associate producers, says. “ ‘I don’t have the budget for that. But if they keep coming down on me that’ll mean I’ll only be able to afford one of you and the other one’s gotta go.’ ”

Soon more employees who supported Mr. Moore in his political crusade became disillusioned with their former boss...”

Maybe the state should hold up tax payments to the federal government?

So...what we got here is a senior Senator of a state who publicly asks the President of the United States to punish that same state by withholding funds. A Senator who, by any common-sensical gauge, is supposed to be looking out for the state. And, who's publicly asking the President of the United States to punish that same state by withholding funds.

Is marijuana legal there too?

I don’t know if marijuana is legal there but it sounds like Whitmer is smoking lots of it.

If Michigan is smart, it will be happy for obama to pull his fiat out of the state. The less a state relies on federal fiat, the better.

I was wondering about the voters. The woman certainly has a talent for shocking.

From what I recall, Teddy Kennedy secretly conspired with the KGB to trip up President Reagan in 1983. But he never was so, er, "bold" to publicly call upon the United Nations or GATT to punish the United States.

...called the votes to approve the right-to-work measure “petty and vindictive politics...

Freaking amazing - calling a lawful event "petty and vindictive politics" then asking the Chicago thug to act in an illegal, petty, and vindictive way in retaliation for a State exercising its rights.

They sure are, but they might be wise, which they are not, to temper their hubris.

To: what's up

“If conservatives are serious about getting power back they will say “go ahead and pull the money”. They will then work to be self-sufficient since freedom has always required that.”

I agree with you 100%.

Another dimension of the terrible legacy of Richard M. Nixon is the power the federal government holds over state and local governments as the arbitrary dispenser of federal tax dollars for local programs. Nixon was a big proponent of “revenue sharing” with state and local government. Instead of reducing federal taxes and spending, Nixon preferred building a federal infrastructure to distribute taxes collected by the central government to local government. Obviously decisions as to how to allocate the funds would be made in Washington, and those political decisions gave power to the president and his staffers making the allocation decisions. Nixon falsely asserted he was giving power back to the states and localities.

There have been lawsuits against that gasbag POS by his crew, as he oftenforgets to pay them. One day, God willing, he will, due to his adiposity and hot gas, simply explode..
