It gives in. We "surrender" to the election results. 8<)

He gets his "tax the rich" pandering to his socialist base and the economically illiterate.

>>Once you pay 50% of your income in taxes, you stop paying.

IIRC, The maximum total tax rate for medieval serfs was 30%. Anything higher was considered slavery.

I agree, with the exception that military salaries and pensions are excluded from the tax.

In order to protect the integrity of the office and attract only the best people for the job they will have to exempt themselves from any and all taxing legislation. Did I mention they are due for a raise in pay for those same reasons?

the limosine liberals are not worried about taxes because THEY WILL NEVER PAY THE INCREASE.

The law is targeted at the up and comming. The future nuvo riche who will compete with the limosine liberals. $250,000 per year for four years is registered as “millionare”. With inflation this the new AMT taking.

The government will keep all non-limosine liberals “in the projects” and the limosine liberals will keep the politicians in their delusion of power.

he who has the gold makes the rules. This keeps gold away from citizens. (iow no property for you)

There was an article in the local paper yesterday, about the fact that it is estimated that the cost of long term care insurance for six retired and retiring police officers is going to cost the local town, 6 million dollars.

Maybe better to cut their pay by what ever percentage the deficit is vs revenues for that yr and tax them at the usual rate for the lower income.

Incentive to balance the budget?

Very good question. If we can tax different groups of people at different rates why not single out rich govt people?

The most disgusting problem I have read is that there are several million federal employees who owe back taxes and have not paid for years.

A 15% tax on union dues would place some burden on the people who keep electing Democrats. Let them pay their "fair share".

I imagine you mean this to be on top of current Federal taxes? As a DOD civillian making under $75,000, I pay ~19% federal income tax. I’d be happy to knock that down to 5%.

I’ve always wondered why health insurance benefits aren’t taxed though.

Obama taxing the rich is no more than a bigoted racist hatred of people he has despised since infancy.

It has nothing to do with the economics of the United States. It is payback.

It should stop being sugar coated and recognised for what it is.

It is South Africa and Mandella’s war against whites, only it is here and Obama. It will end the same way, with a country destroyed,.

Just get his own tax-cheaters to pay up... Don't know why this wasn't an issue in the election.

from IBD Jan 2012

“The tax offenders include employees of the U.S. Senate who help write the laws imposed on everyone else. They owe $2.1 million. Workers in the House of Representatives owe $8.5 million, Department of Education employees owe $4.3 million and over at Homeland Security, 4,697 workers owe about $37 million. Active duty military members owe more than $100 million.

The Treasury Department, where Obama nominee Tim Geithner had to pay up $42,000 in his own back taxes before being confirmed as secretary, has 1,181 other employees with delinquent taxes totaling $9.3 million.

As usual, the Postal Service, with more than 600,000 workers, has the most offenders (25,640), who also owe the most — almost $270 million. Veterans Affairs has 11,659 workers owing the IRS $151 million while the Energy Department that was so quick to dish out more than $500 million to the Solyndra folks has 322 employees owing $5 million.

The country's chief law enforcement agency, the Department of Justice, has 2,069 employees who are nearly $17 million behind in taxes. Like Operation Fast and Furious, Attorney General Eric Holder has apparently missed them too.”

How do you tax federal workers? They don’t pay taxes. They just have misleading paychecks and overly complicated means of receiving their salary.
