A well-traveled panhandler who made national headlines last summer when he told an Oklahoma City police officer he'd made $60,000 in a year begging for money was arrested this week in Boise.
...
Speegle was in Oklahoma City, where he told a police officer he was too lazy to get a job and didn't need to because he'd made $60,000 last year... The officer told Speegle he needed a $200 daily permit to panhandle, but Speegle suggested the price was within his means.

Franchise?
Truly a ridiculous truth!
Makes me mad that people give so much to pan-handles effectively enabling them.
I lived in Mexico for a number of years and almost every day gave money to people on the street. But there it really is different.
He’s effectively earning $20.55 an hour begging.
It used to be that poor and needy would turn to their friends, family and church. Which in turn gave them moral support and helped them get back on their feet a lot sooner.
Now people are living off the government shamelessly.
There are a lot of people out there who are too lazy to work but who think the rest of society owes them a living. The difference is this guy only gets money from suckers who voluntarily give it to him. The other bums think that government should force the taxpayer to support them.
Made a cardboard sign for my car. When I see someone on the exit ramp with a sign that says “Homeless”, I show them my sign:
“Ask Obama!”
Let the slime go. If you're dumb enough to fall for his gig, or it makes you feel good, what's the difference?
He'd be on welfare anyway. This way we eliminate the middle men - the social welfare bureaucracy.
Just make him report his "earnings" and pay income, self employment, insurance, business and every other idiot tax that people like him have voted to impose on the rest of us.
Then you’d still pay for it!
They probably already ask Obama anyway.
I give to nobody on the streets. Thanks to the government I no longer give to any large charity at stores or that solicit me online or elsewhere. I give to smaller local charities where I can see the work being done and sometimes volunteer there myself.
The government is already giving my money to the likes of ACORN and PP.
Printing up my own “business cards” to give these bums. It will be worth the $2.95/250 at Office Depot.
Same here. We don't even do the local food bank any more. Why bother when SNAP covers everything?
I recently found myself steeping over and around groups of panhandlers. I was surprised to find no compassion in my heart.
Now I just tune out when some elitist Commie does a media stunt such as eating on $30 a week.
In a Con Game, the Grifter takes advantage of the beliefs, emotions and senses of the Mark. The Grifter relies on your compassion, greed, naïveté, fear and arrogance. A mugger sticks a gun in your face and demands your money. A mugger can face some serious jail time. He can also get shot. Con men like this guy rarely serve serious jail time. They also aren’t going to get shot. He’s taking advantage of people’s compassion. I got chewed out yesterday for being a heartless rat because I pointed out that a lot of “beggars” are just small time Grifters. I’m just advocating that people be wary.
that is FANTASTIC!
$200 a day to panhandle??
Can I make $600 a day panhandling?
Well, when you hand them out, don’t get too close! LOL
I’m thinking of including an invitation to our church to receive the several blessings of God:
1. The Gospel
2. The Sacraments
3. The love of God expressed thru social interaction
Hey, we’ll even arrange for 3 hots-and-a-cot if needed.
Just ask...
My son’s landlord showed us a card he gives out sometimes. It’s like the Monopoly card that says “Get out of jail...free” but his says “Get out of hell...free!” and includes a Bible verse and the address of his church where he is a deacon. Rather creative, I think!
