There is an update at the link. The owner says the employee was fired. His name is Ahmed Sidi Alewya and supposedly didn't know what an ambulance looked like because he is from another country.

Knows enough English to have a job and can't read the word "ambulance"?

Sounds like the place is very aggressive at putting the boot on, even in cases when someone stops to buy something there, and charges $120 to remove the boot (although the city law says $90 is the most they can charge).

But wait! The company that did the booting is not Quicky’s the convenience store. They are a separate contractor.
