Susan Rice has six-figure investment in controversial Canadian oil pipeline company
The Daily Caller ^ | November 29, 2012 | David Martosko

Posted on 11/29/2012 11:20:34 AM PST by maggief

Susan Rice, the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations whose name has been floated as a possible secretary of state nominee, may soon face opposition from the environmental lobby over what the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) called a potential financial conflict of interest on Wednesday.

According to her May 2012 financial disclosure, Rice has an investment in TransCanada Corporation worth between $300,000 and $600,000. TransCanada is angling for the State Department’s permission to build the final portion of the Keystone XL pipeline — a 1,700-mile conduit for crude oil between Canadian deposits and Texas refineries.

If she were confirmed as secretary of state, Rice would have final authority to green-light the large section of the pipeline project still languishing in regulatory purgatory.

(snip)

Rice’s disclosure form — a document required of high-ranking executive branch employees — shows that she and husband Ian Cameron, a longtime ABC News producer, have a net worth between $26,344,219 and $38,826,000. (The form requires only a range of valuations for each asset.)

she and husband Ian Cameron, a longtime ABC News producer

More of the incestuous relationship between media and the politicians they "objectively" cover.

I agree with those who think Susan Rice is a distraction from what the White House and State Department did or didn’t do with regard to Benghazi.

Good Question.

"Rice was born in Washington, D.C.,[1] to Emmett J. Rice (1919 –2011), Cornell University economics professor and the second black governor of the Federal Reserve System;[1] and education policy scholar Lois (Dickson) Fitt, currently at the Brookings Institution.[2] Her parents divorced during her youth."

Could be some $$$ from an inheritance.

"Rice was managing director and principal at Intellibridge from 2001 to 2002."

Also she's apparently a freakin' Capitalist.

Bill Clinton on Keystone XL pipeline: ‘Embrace’ it

http://www.newyorker.com/talk/comment/2011/11/28/111128taco_talk_mayer

The lineup promoting TransCanada’s interests was a textbook study in modern, bipartisan corporate influence peddling. Lobbyists ranged from the arch-conservative Grover Norquist’s Americans for Tax Reform to TransCanada’s in-house lobbyist Paul Elliott, who worked on both Hillary and Bill Clinton’s Presidential campaigns. President Clinton’s former Ambassador to Canada, Gordon Giffin, a major contributor to Hillary Clinton’s Presidential and Senate campaigns, was on TransCanada’s payroll, too.

Matter of fact, they should pay at a higher rate, since they’re the ones who want the government programs. For example, they could fund Obamacare.

More confirmation for my belief that Obama is about to throw the greenies under the bus.

Apparently some well-connected Demorats stand to get very wealthy from this thing. Plus Obama will need new sources of revenue to tap if he intends to keep growing government bigger and bigger.

Big deal. Look at Obama and George Soros investments that are not in the USA’s best interest.

There is nothing good or honest about this administration.

I think it may be the best chance to really get the Benghazi stuff out in the open. Because of that, I doubt Obama will nominate her unless he is just an arrogant narcissistic arse.

They should pay their "fair share" from the wealth they have already accumulated.

Forget income tax, I say a one time 70% tax the wealthy leftist accumulated wealth tax. They don't believe in evil wealth anyway, right?

One of Obama’s ONE PERCENTERS. Tax the shit out of her and her husband.

Then send her back to a decent school to learn how to lie properly.

Okay, now Susan’s on stage lies on Benghazi start to make some sense!

1.) Susan buys stock in Trans Canada.
2.) Susan makes deal to lie about Benghazi if Benghazi-Coward Obama promises on his wife’s unmentionables to approve the XL Pipeline soon.
3.) Susan insits that if Obama wins that he will name her to replace Hilly, and thus continue the tradition of error-free stock trades based on insider information. The real reason was that as SOS Susan could make sure that the XL pipeline deal was built by Trans Canada.

Tension was high at the White House and the Rice home until the night of November 6, 2012, for all would be for naught if Rice’s lies were not convincing enough to the ‘free stuff’ Obama voters.

Then as Benghazi-Coward Obama was declared the winner Susan knew that her financial future was assured.

She probably, at least to a certain extent did it the old-fashioned way, inherited it along with her husband's inheritance as well. Both, her and her husband come from established political and business families. Her father, for example, was a Federal Reserve governor and Ivy League economics professor. She, as well, had her own career McKinsey, but it seems that was for a short period of time, so it is unlikely that she could have made it there.
