Obama is introducing a new hashtag to the fiscal cliff debate.

The White House plans to promote (hashtag)My2K on Twitter and other social media — a reference to the estimated $2,200 tax increase that a typical middle-class family of four would see if the Bush tax cuts expire.

Obama is holding an event with middle-class Americans on Wednesday and urging the public to press Congress to protect tax cuts for families earning $250,000 or less.

The president is also meeting with corporate executives at the White House on Wednesday and then traveling to Pennsylvania on Friday to push for upper income bracket earners to pay higher tax rates. It’s part of a campaign

We need to hijack and ridicule this PR stunt. Obama expects us to be depressed and roll over. Don't give him what he wants. I say we fight

Wait a minute - the "Bush tax cuts" are responsible for the whole national debt, aren't they?

Why is getting rid of them now a BAD thing?

Add that to the expiring 2% reduction in SS payments working folks are receiving......which by the way caused SS payment output to exceed receipts FOR THE FIRST TIME.

So in other words, he's holding the tax cuts hostage and using them as a dangling carrot to make sure the GOP follow along like good little donkeys moderates.

I would like to push for free entry into movies for all people making 40,000/year or less, a nationalized attorney access program that caps the amount of money attorney's can ask for - and does away with hourly rates (replaced with lump sum amounts, e.g. drafting a will costs X, setting up a trust, costs y, etc. etc.), the equivalent of ‘public housing’ for people who don't make enough money to be able to afford going to the trendiest restaurants in NYC and LA (a law requiring that at least 15% of tables are set aside for those who can't afford to eat at those establishments - and the ability to eat there with food stamps), free access to online music for those making less than $50,000/year, etc. etc. I'd love to see the hypocritical left (but I repeat myself) react when their elitist enclaves are threatened. They have always needed to be hoisted by their own petards.

We can add capping tuition to any Ivy League school as well. No student loan required. Keep chipping away at the ivory towers.

His whole term thus far has been nothing more than one campaign stunt after another. I don’t expect that will stop....and neither will I.

I try but its pretty discouraging to see how few republicans bother to vote in elective university positions like trustees.

We fight the convenient battles and they fight every battle.

Isn’t the share of the national debt of each person something like 56K? Maybe we should answer with THAT number. LOL!

There hasn’t been the slightest suggestion about what they’re going to do about the real problems, and that’s entitlements,” said Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah, the top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee. “ (from AP yahoo news)

Deflection from both Federal sides ....another one of the 2008 bailout babies speak.

No hint of actually REDUCING bureaus, contractors, and agencies.

All government comes at the expense of the private sector.....including fire and police.....state.

Sadly, you are right.

Most of us aspire to a life aside from politics. Some downtime between elections when we can focus on our business, family, religion, things that are really important (as well as sports and some leisure)

No such luck as long as we are up against the Alinskyites. They HAVE no life outside of politics. They literally lay awake each night thinking of cute new little ways to stick it to us. Gonna have to respond in kind I guess.

And here I thought that Bush only cut taxes on the rich - funny how letting them expire will do so much damage to the middle class...
